Anyone have an annual pass?

We have never been twice in one year before but next year we are going in April and August. Although I had not intended to do much at the parks at Easter I guess if we had annual passes we would be far more inclined to just pop to a park for an hour or two and as we are going for over three weeks in August it would also give the flexilibity to pop in and out of the parks to see fireworks etc...

We never stay at a park for the full day so I think this might be a good idea for us? Think I might have talked myself into them :confused3

Anyone have an AP?

You can do the math, but, since you are going twice next year, the annual passes would probably work for you.

We don't have them now due to free dining offer, we buy 21 day tickets with OKW to get the free food but we have had them in past years.

They do 2 one just covers the 4 parks or the more expensive one also covers water parks & Disney Quest.

We had the cheaper ones, was cheaper to pay for a day or 2/year in water parks.

Costs are here http://allears.net/pl/apass.htm
Cheapest is now £327 Premium £413

If you're not staying on site, the APs also give you free parking!!!

The last APs we had were used for just over 7 weeks in total. We got them for approx £250 each as we're DVC members. We go almost every day when we're in Florida, even if it is just to see Fireworks.

If you work it out at us using them for 42 days out of our 51, thats just £5.95 per day each!!!!

Worth it? I'd say so!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Plus the other benefits like 10% off at Disney shops.

If you get an AP also check out getting the Tables in Wonderland card. This costs $75 but gives you 20% off meals in selected restaurants (though to be fair this is most of them) which effectively pays for your tips each time you eat in Disney.
More information HERE

When we had one last year the only place we got the discount was at World of Disney. It didn't apply in any of the parks or resorts :sad2:

You could almost guarentee whatever we wanted was in Once Upon A Toy and not in World of Disney when we had the AP's. So annoying:rotfl:

We're the same, or Mousegear or the Main Street Emporium but not in World of Disney. :lmao: We always used to buy one AP because we found we saved so much on parking and the Tables in Wonderland card. This past year we were visiting several times and so bought the cheaper AP and a separate AP for the Water Parks for all of us. This was better value for us than buying the Premier one which includes Disney Quest and we're really not bothered about going there. Unfortunately we're on holiday during Scottish School holidays and free dining kicks in just as we have to head for home to start the new term. Boo hoo :sad1:

Hi,

I got my AP at WDW in OCtober when I was there for a week.

I also got my Tables in Wonderland card as I was dining in the resort restaurants and sit down restaurants.

I am going back for 2 weeks in Jan 2011 ( doing the half marathon) so get more benefit then.

Whilst the AP booklet only lists a limited number of shops which gives a discount, all the stores I went into in the theme parks and resorts ( the gift shops) gave 10% AP- This was a temporary offer until end of September 2010 but has been extended to end of January 2011 as per;
http://www.mousesavers.com/otherwdw.html#apdiscounts

I asked in the stores if they did a AP discount and they all said yes.

Regards

TBS

I think the AP is a good buy if you are going twice. The Basin store let my DD use the AP discount in there - once I had asked at the counter and shown it - as my DD wanted to buy me a little present from there.

I also got the Tables in Wonderland card and found this also paid for itself with just a few meals.

Wow, thanks for all your replies :thumbsup2

It definately seems like a great option for us mainly as we will be in Florida for six weeks in total next year and we love the idea of the flexibility and not being tied to planning days etc

Also we haven't planned this far ahead yet but if we were to visit again for Easter 2012, as Easter is late this year and early April next year, we would still be able to use our AP's at that point - no brainer :rotfl2:

Thanks for all the info :thumbsup2

Hi there, just thought I would let you know our AP experience. We just got back yesterday from our 2-week hols and seeing as we have already booked to go for 2 weeks in September next year decided to price up the upgrade difference from our 14-day Disney tickets.

We upgraded to the Premium Annual Pass and the difference for 2 adults and 2 children was around £900 (exchange rate depending!). We go to the water parks 3-4 times on the holiday so decided to go for that one. It cost us around £850 for our tickets this year so with the free parking for the 2 holidays (around £200 for both holidays) and the 20% discount we had (and extensively used this year!) it more than made its money for us!! It was lovely getting the 20% off in so many places.....made me feel happier about spending all that money :rotfl:

We wil def consider an AP in the future and it is helpfull to see other peoples experience. But at the minute we are going out of high season and Disney has the free dining offer on - so it saves us m ore just to book this way for now. But in the future being a DVC member the AP will be the way to go.
