Annual passes

I know as DVC members we can get $100 off the pprice of an annual pass.

Question #1 = if I buy a pass - can I wait to activate it?
I would like to buy passes as Christmas gifts for my husband and I, but we won't need to use them until next Fall.

Question #2 = Am I also intitled to the pay for 12 mos get 15 mos on the new passes?

Buy an AP while at WDW and it immediately activates. Buy one anywhere else (over phone, on-line) and you do not actually get APs but a receipt for them and then you pick up APs, and they are first activated, when you show up at WDW.

Renewals work differently, they start immediately when prior one expires. The 15 month program going on now applies to renewals. Don't know if they have anything for new APs.

The 15th months is only for renewals or Florida Residents who purchase a new AP before 12/31/09.
