What is the difference between the Annual Pass and Premium Annual Pass?

The regular AP is good for admission to the 4 main theme parks. The premium AP also includes admission to the water parks and Disney Quest (and, previously, Pleasure Island). If you think you'll go to any combination of those more than three times in the year the premium AP would be your best bet.

Currently, not much.

Used to be you'd get admission to Pleasure Island. That is gone. But do you like to golf?

You still get admission to the water parks with the PAP.

We are going in Jan and plan on going again in October. I don't know how much water park time there would be in Jan, probably too cold.

The PAP also includes admission to the Sports Complex for most regular sporting events. Special ticketed events are not included, just like special ticketed events at the theme parks are not included with an AP.
