Annual passes and Volcano Bay

I was hoping for this too but I guess not.....
Will wait for reviews I guess and then decide if we will go to VB or back to aquatica which we know and love.
I was really hoping for a discount for AP holders as well. We also love Aquatica but we are really hoping to sneak in once day at Volcano Bay in August. Sigh.

I am confused about the upgrade process - we are from Germany so can we still upgrade the passes later in the year??

Anyone think Universal will add a '1 theme park (Universal or Island) + Volcano Bay' deal or that it's pretty much going to be the 3 park deal for foreseeable future?

I agree. I don't understand why they would put blackout days just for Volcano Bay on the preferred pass.

Me either! Of course, we are planning a trip late July, and I just renewed my preferred AP 2 weeks ago. Argh>:( We are also going opening weekend, which wasn't intentional. Now, I have to figure out how to add the 3 park and possibly upgrade my preferred to premiere. I suspect I am going to take a bath on this. We only go a couple of time a year at most. At least I got an AP discount on my hotel for Memorial Day weekend. That takes a little bit of the sting out.

After looking at the costs, I'll keep my 2 park Preferred AP I've had since 2004. It's not worth the difference in cost...plus I don't want to change my pass...it's a relic from another time...plastic with my picture on it. ;)

You and mac lol, let mine go one year never thinking it would go poof and get stuck with the Tyvek one. Plastic now an improvement but not as sweet.

I'm just hoping the continue to sell 'just' the 2 park APH. The mr is up for renewal in May or June, waiting for that email hope to beat any price increase.

I upgraded my preferred pass to 3 park yesterday at guest services inside the Studios park. You have to be there in person, they give you a new (slightly darker shade of color) card with "3 Park" printed on the right hand side of it and trade in your old one. $99 + tax for the preferred. I did have trouble scanning it for a discount at Starbucks (a few places have to scan it for a discount, but most restaurants you just show it so I still think they are working out a few quirks with the new passes)

The April dates listed are having a special area set up at "Group Sales" in front of IOA near the lighthouse, it's just there to give passholders a separate area to do it so they don't have to stand in line at guest services, before or after those days you can just go to guest services (I picked in the park in the middle of the day when it was generally slow inside).

I doubt that they will do that. As not only having an AP is great for getting to go all the time, but is the fact that you get both parks included and the fact that WWoHP is divided up and separated from the two parks makes it seem as if to really enjoy the whole area completely is to have both parks.

Renewed my preferred yesterday, and asked about adding VB, and adding it to the kids passes, which expire in November. The expiration date stays the same, there's no prorated cost for the remainder of the few months left, and there's no separate Waterpark only AP like Disney has. I know the difference to add the upgrade is minimal, but what I end up with is a pass I can use for just over 3 months between now and November 5th.

I guess if you are intending on going to Volcano Bay more than twice in those 3 months, it would be worth it.
