Annual Pass

Your assumption is correct. Do check out the link sheryl0521 provided in her post. It really lays out the different ticket choices and current prices (including DC and any advance purchase requiremetns) in a manner that is easy to understand.

Enjoy your trip!

Regular AP's. Used for 9 days from 7/3 to 7/12 this summer, then T-Giving trip from 11/27 to 12/1 for 5 days, then early next summer for 7 days before expiring.

I just checked out the AP prices using the disney club ,what is a charter renewal and how do you buy at this price:confused:

Chip1: If, for some reason, you are staying in a Disney hotel your first night (like to save weekend points) you can make your reservation using the AP discounted rate. Once you get to WDW go to the park before you check in to pick up the AP and then check in. That way your cost is offset in advance. This is especially easy to do at BWV or BCV.

Polly Ann: One advantage of AP's with very small children is that you can leave the parks after 3 or 4 hours without feeling cheated. The key here is for some of the small children must be under 3 so you aren't paying for them to begin with...which I have to say is annoying. Disney should have a special height restricted pass to let kids under 5 in on a discounted or free pass. Under 3 is ridiculous.

Oh I forgot....I'm in the last 3 months of an Annual Pass. I plan to switch back to hoppers for a couple of years while I wait for WDW to bring on more new stuff.

Seasonal passes for us. There are for FL residents only and avoid mid summer, Xmas and Easter but then so do we normally. They've also had the 4 days for $99 about the last 3 times we went so that was even a better deal.

My DH and I have always gotten length of stay passes for our visits. They allowed for entry as many times a day as you want and to as many parks as you want per day. I noticed that no one mentioned this pass and I was wondering if something has changed concerning them. I know that Disney changed the name of them but still gave basically the same benefits. They also allowed entry into the water parks and PI on an unlimited basis for the length of your stay at Disney. Did I miss a discontinuation of these passes? Now I'm worried. I don't want to have to limit my park entry due to pass limitations.

DH and I are going on our first trip trip to a 1BR at BCV home next month.

We've decides on purchasing AP's (not premium) dor the stay. We figure that 6 days in Nov, and are planning 6 more days next August and fit in another trip next November will definitely pay the AP off!

But the previous post is right? We were planning on purchasing the AP's at Epcot's gate and what a pain that will be!

Our flight arrives at 11AM and we want to get to the F&WF ASAP. It would be nice if we already had our AP's go we wouldn't have to pay for parking and then we can leave Epcot and do our food shoppping prior to checking in.

Any input would be appreciated!:earsgirl:

Jona8484,

Many DVCers don't feel the LOS passes are a great deal. Depending on how long you stay and how often you visit, you can generally do much better with other passes. The LOS passes are quite expensive despite their flexibility and for many DVCers there is a better choice. The LOS passes have not been discontinued and are indeed a good choice for some families - it just depends on your vacation habits. Also, the LOS passes are the only ones that DVCers get a discount on.

Poolgirl,

I believe that you can purchase APs at the Disney store located within the airport. I don't know if you get an actual pass or just a voucher though - perhaps someone else can verify this for you. We bought our APs at the Epcot ticket window and it took only a few minutes. Of course, your wait time can vary significantly depending on how many people ahead of you etc. You can also get APs at the Guest Services counter at Downtown Disney - maybe that would be a good alternative choice. Good luck!

We have APs this year but did not originally plan on purchasing them. While visiting WDW in March with PHPs, we decided to return in January for one last trip before dd turns 3 so we went ahead and upgraded our passes to APs while still there. Once these expire, we will most likely return to PHPs unless we foresee multiple trips in a year which is unlikely.

We only go once per year for a week.
We got APs for the first time this year, intending to play the "AP gambit", where next year we come one week earlier and so can use the AP for two yearly trips. Assuming this goes as planned, it will save money. The convenience factor is also very nice. (Go to theme parks whenever you want, leave when you feel like it.)

The trick is in hoping our DS's don't insist on going to a water park! If they do, I suppose we'll cough up the dough. We're hoping Stormalong Bay will be enough to keep them happy!

poolgirl, you can buy AP vouchers in advance, or you can buy APs at Epcot gate, but either way you're going to spend time at Epcot Guest Relations. There don't seem to be too many options for having activated APs in hand when you reach Epcot. The only reasonable choice would seem to be buying APs at the Disney Store in Orlando airport, but it's far from clear that it would save any time to do that.

BTW. I believe the Charter Annual Pass rate is only available to those who have purchased an annual pass every year since WDW opened.
