My mum is trying to decide whether to buy an annual pass and I am hoping you might be able to help.

She and I are taking a wedding planning trip to Disney in October, we will be there for 1 week and I will use the annual pass I receive as part of my wedding package.

She will then be going again for 2 weeks in April / May with the rest of the family for the actual wedding.

Since she will be staying in Disney for 3 weeks in the next year would it be advisable to purchase an annual pass or is it better / cheaper for UK visitors to buy the ultimate passes? Also, if she did buy an annual pass would it cause any problems on the April holiday when she stays with my dad who will have a regular ticket - e.g. could they still book the dining plan, etc?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Going by Attraction Tickets Direct prices at the moment, they have the 7-day pass, and the 14-day pass for the same price - £237 each. So, if your mum bought the 7, and then 14-day passes for the two trips, it would be £474. An annual pass is about $635, which at an exchange rate of 1.5 works out to be £423.50. Already that price is cheaper than the two passes. The 14-day is on offer, so if it went back up to normal price, you'd be saving even more. Also, if the exchange rate keeps going up before you need to buy, you'd save money there too - an exchange rate of 1.6 would only be £390.50!

It won't matter when your mum and dad go if one person has an annual pass and the other doesn't. In fact, quite frequently, people on here will get an annual pass for one member of the family, so that the offers and discounts can be made use of, and then the rest of the family get the regular ultimate passes, so there is absolutely no worries with having different passes. As long as everyone has a pass of some kind, that's all they worry about!

With regard to buying the dining plan you could have an issue. If you book the room through the UK you will need to purchase a ticket for everyone in the room to be able to buy the dining plan.

However if you book through Disney in the US annual passholders can add the dining plan with out the need to purchase tickets and then you can just buy your Dad whatever ticket he wants/needs.
