My youngest daughter & I will be heading to WDW in a few days. I am planning to purchase a 6 day park hopper for both of us. Our entire family will be back in August. Should I just upgrade to an annual pass? And what would the price of that be....is there a DVC discount on the annual pass? Thanks for your help!

If you purchase MYW tickets, any upgrades must be done within 14 days of the first use.

DVC members do get a discount on APs. You get $100 of the regular price of an adult (age 10+) AP and $88 of the regular price of a childs (ages 3-9) AP. DVC discounted prices before tax are $369 for adults and $326 for children. Add 6.5% sales tax. All adults must have a government issued photo id with the same address as the member.

I say YES to buying the AP with the DVC discount. You should also consider whether or not the Tables in Wonderland card is a good idea for you. It is valid for 13 months from purchase and offers a 20% discount on most table service restaurants and a few quick service restaurants. The card is $75 - we find it is a great savings!

Yes, DO get an annual pass if you are returning within the same year.
That is what we do. Are you bringing other people for either stay?

Definitely the annual pass if you go more than once a year. With the $100 savings with DVC member card, great deal. We learned our lesson along time ago. We went more than once and bought park hoppers for 5 each time!!!! Two visits in one year more than pays for the annual pass!!

As others have said, the AP is the way to go for you. And it might be even better if you go again next year. Remember that an AP is good for 365 days, so if you go again next February you already have admission.

A further bonus - having an AP allows you to buy the Disney Dining Experience card (sometimes referred to as Tables in Wonderland - but not by me), which gets you a 20% discount on almost all your table service meals.

I have decided to go ahead and get an AP and have booked a total of 3 trips in 12months to use it well. We are going down on April 5th which is a Sunday. Do we just go to a park to get it? Do we buy it at check in? I have a $500 Visa from buying DVC that I want to use for part of it, will that be a problem do you think?

You have to go to a Theme Park Ticket Window or a Guest Services location to purchase APs. They are not available at the resorts.

If you use more than 10 days on the AP and it's less than the 10 day non expire, yes buy it. I am debating whether or not to renew mine. I thought I'd get about 16 days out of it in the 12 month period, and I got 11. It was still worth it, because I spent more than 10 days in the parks, but don't know if thats going to happen again this year, so I'm not so sure I'll renew.....

Not at the normal theme park ticket window. Just at the theme park guest services window. Also if you are going that many times, the TIW card is a reall asset and can also be used at a limited number of the counter service restaurants, most notably the Flame Tree in the Animal Kingdom (awesome BBQ ribs).

Make sure that you have your blue membership card and photo ids for adults showing the same address as the member.

Oh ok. Is that the only time I will need the membership card down there? I had better pack the dang things now, cause I am likely to forget.

Hey Susan! :wave2:

Congrats on your DVC purchase! :yay:

If your family decides to go to Welcome Home Wednesday, you'll need your blue card. Also, Wolfgang Puck Express gives a 10% DVC discount. Not sure of any other times you might need it, but I always carry my card with me! :goodvibes

You can get APs at regular theme park tickets windows. I have gotten mine at those many times. If you want to get a TiW card, that can only be done at guest services.

Hi!! Waving frantically!! (computer problems have kept me far, far, away from the Dis boards.  for way too long!)

I might just go to Welcome Home Wednesday just to hear about the new things coming out! Is it at SSR? I am very excited about my DVC purchase and doing a little Disney dance even!

I had not even thought of that... I will go do some Dis research on it as we are not planning on the dining plan but I can already hear Boma calling my name in the near future....

I might get both at the guest services window so i don't tie up the regular line too much....

I just renewed our passes.
I always bring our lisence or (State Id), my DVC Membership Card, my expired pass, and for kids without yet a lisence I bring a copy their birth certificate. And of course you'd have the room key with you anyway. My daughter.s lisence has a different address and differnt name from me but we explain she uses her dad's address. Never a problem.

It's at Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk - 4pm. It's a cute little event to do at least once! Tori loves the Cracker Jacks and lemonade!! (I like getting off my feet for an hour!! :rotfl2:)
