:confused3 Are the Annual Pass room discounts worth buying one? How many people out there have bought an annual pass for the discounts and are happy with what is offered? How many travel to the World more during the because they purchased an annual pass? Just trying to see if it is worth purchasing one...Thanks for you help! :)

We have annual passes and go 2-3 times per year. The pass is well worth it for us. Going just 2 times a year for 10 days each, that's 20 nights at a hotel, and being that we stay at deluxes we usually get $75-$100 off the price of the room per night, that's a savings of $1500-$2000. That more than pays for our three passes.

My aunt & uncle went last year and just one of them got an annual pass just for the discounts. This worked out well for them too.

I purchased an AP last year. Although we only went once with it and it will expire BEFORE we go again I was able to purchase the DDE card. That card saved us alot of money. It gives you 20% off of food and alcoholic beverages. The savings are definately there. Only one person in your party has to have the AP and you can reserve up to 3 rooms with your AP.

:thumbsup2 You are all being very helpful! Do you mind explaining what a DDE is? Thanks, the best people are on this board, you are so supportive!

DDE = Disney Dining Experience (membership)

Having an AP is great. But it does not guarantee an AP room discount. Chances are fairly good. But no guarantee. I suggest buying an AP if you know you will get a good value return with park usage.

We always buy AP's, because we get 2 trips out of ours. Living clear out on the west coast, we want to get our money's worth. We just go a couple of weeks earlier the following year, so we get 2 vacations out of 1 pass. The little discounts come in handy too! :cool1:

What is the current price for an AP?

The AP prices are listed on Disney's website. There are seasonal annual passes, regular, and premium. Also special rates for FL residents.

I got the seasonal FL pass, and it was well worth it. Even though there was no discount offered on the hotel room, it covered 5 days of park admissions plus park hopping when we wanted to. We're going again in January for three days, and we went last March for three dayas as well...so $220 for 11 park days is pretty good (that's the FL resident rate for a seasonal pass). I think non FL residents pay $100 more, $200 more for a regular AP - so about $420.

I do think the AP is worth it for room discounts. Do keep in mind that with an AP discount you can't purchase DDP.

We try and get 2 uses out of ours...we only buy 1. they key is you have to be flexable with your travel dates and be able to go on short notice.

example is I know we will go in jab oor feb 2007, but the AP rooms have not been released yet, so we can't realley plan.

we buy my wife and daughter park tickets ala carte, because we don't spend all week in the parks...we may go 3 out of 6 days, so 3 AP's does not help us.

I save between $1,000 and $1,700 a year because of the AP.
