Annual Pass with MYW package?

I am planning a trip with my family in May and just my husband and I would like to go back after SW Land opens in the fall. I'm thinking of getting APs for Dh and I (plus it looks like there should be an AP discount during our trip).

I'd like to get a MYW package but I can't get that unless I get tickets with the package. But I won't need 2 tickets since DH and I would have APs.

Is there a way to not need tickets for everyone on the reservation?

Nope, but what you can do is have them remove the tickets off your profile and give you physical tickets that you can use another time (or gift to someone).

Call and get a “ticketless package”.

This doesn’t work if you want Free Dining, but if you want to buy the dining plan or there’s some other reason why you want the (more restrictive and have to pay it off earlier) package, ticketless package is the way to do it.


I was reading it backwards this morning, that you had the AP trip first and the package trip later.

You could also just upgrade the tickets to APs when you are there...

You'd either book a room only and then purchase tickets separately or if you wanted the dining plan you'd call to book a ticketless package and again purchase tickets separately.
Or if you didn't mind you could just book the full package and then upgrade to AP's after you arrive.

There is no need to make it too complex. Just book your package as normal since packages require all guests in a room the have the same selections for Tickets and or Dining plans unless you book a ticket less packages and by tickets stand-alone.

Once you get to Disney for your family visit, you can simply upgrade 1-2 tickets from the package to APs. Note that you don't need to upgrade both your's and your husbands to an AP, you will only need one for the AP discount. Check, it may be cheaper to get one AP and one cheaper ticket. It reallly comes down to the total number of days that you would stay within the 1 year AP period.
