Annual Pass with DVC Discount

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but don't know where else to ask it:

The kids and I are going 9/20-27 and staying at POP. In order to qualify for the free dining, I have to get a one day ticket. Then, we are transferring over to AKV, meeting up with DH and staying on DVC points 9/27-10/4.

I know that as DVC members, we get a discount for annual passes. I also know that you can upgrade a one day ticket to annual pass as long as so many days haven't past. So, now my questions: Can I upgrade a one day ticket to an annual pass AND still get my DVC discount?

You can upgrade a one-day pass to an annual anytime. One-day passes do not expire until the day they are actually used. If they are never used, they don't expire.

Yes, you can get the DVC discount and apply the one-day ticket. Have them do the one-day ticket first.
