Hi all,
I have been at DLRP since Saturday night, having a lovely time with a close friend. I love Disney and travel regularly to WDW and DLRP and usually have a great time.
Today I had the most awful and shocking experience in any Disney park, in fact in any tourist destination I've been to. My annual pass was stolen and although the lovely cast members at the Studios said I could get in to Disneyland park to replace it, (after 5pm bizarrely, no explanation was given for that but I was happy to follow procedure) when I did what they asked they said I couldn't get in. A manager was called who was rude and first of all said it was fine and then changed her mind, then a horrible, horrible man who was allegedly ticket manager came to tell us we weren't allowed in.
He was rude, raised his voice, pointed at me and got so much in my personal space I had to take a step back and ask him to do the same. He was racist and insulting, it was horrific.
I'm not debating or complaining about the procedures; I appreciate they have rules about what happens when a pass gets lost (they were going to let me in but then realised I had a disabled pass and my friend was accessing the parks on a companion ticket - they wouldn't believe that for lost as well but of course it did as it was in the same wallet!!) but it was HOW he did it and how he spoke to me. I was so shaken by it, I stayed really calm but I'm just shell-shocked.
There were only 3 more hours of park time, it's my last night and for complex reasons, my last trip with this friend. All we wanted to do was see the parade, have a buffet meal, pick up some last souvenirs and watch Disney Dreams. Instead I left in tears, NOT because I didn't get what I wanted, (which is what the horrible man said) but because of how I was spoken to and treated. I was totally off-guard, relaxed and happy and it's ruined today for me completely.
I fly to Orlando on Friday for 2 weeks in Kidani Village. I sooooo hope it erases this experience. I never would have believed one conversation old have such a nasty impact on my feelings about Disneyland Paris. What a shame.
Does anyone think it's worth writing a letter? Would I get anything more than a simple 'thanks for your complaint' letter? I can't help feeling that in Orlando it would have been sorted - the cast members there WANT to help and want you to have a nice time. 'Phillipe' wanted to show his authority and be a nasty, vile man in the process. Sad tonight and don't know if I can/should go back in the morning... Technically I could have 5 hours and get all my souvenirs that I saved for but I don't know if I can handle it.
Bah.
(((( xx
