Just about to book some room only stuff and wanted to ask something.

It's possible that some members of the party will be buying annual passes. Now, I understand that there is a room-only discount with these, so a couple of questions.

Firstly, Can we ask for an annual pass discount at the time of booking and then show the passes when we get there? If not, if we buy the annual passes now, and use them to get the discount, does that activate them? I'm asking because the return trip is planned within 1 year of our trip date, but more than 1 year from today, if you see what I mean.:scratchin

Many thanks.

You don't have to have the AP in your possession when you book the room.
You can buy it when you get there.
I've done that many times.
but i believe you can only book by phone when you don't have an AP at the time of booking.

As Beth said you don't need to have an active AP to book a room with AP discount but you will need to book by phone or a US TA such as Dreams Unlimited.

Also note the AP discount is only on certain room types/dates so you may or May note get a discount.

One last thing if you buy an AP in advance you will get a will call certificate/reference. You can link this to MDE to allow you to pre-book your FPs.

No - AP discounted rooms can only booked through Disney US. The room will be charged in $ too.

yes, i should have stated - by phone to the US number...

and as stated, there aren't always AP discounts.....sometimes there are, sometimes not....

If you give me dates and resorts I can check online foe you to see what is available with an AP discount :goodvibes

Certain US specialist Disney travel agents will add any available discount as it comes up and I guess you can communicate with them via e mail. Mouse Fan Travel is one such agent. You'd be paying in $s though.

I usually book my summer trip using the AP discount via an American TA. I choose where I want to stay and she updates the booking if and when the AP discounts are realeased. I've found that the discounts tend to follow a reasonably similar pattern each year and certain hotels are usually excluded. I have my AP linked to MDE.
