annual pass room discounts

Hi Everyone, I am wondering if you all book your rooms then adjust when/if an AP discount becomes available. I am dvc, but other traveling partners are booking at moderate resorts. Late August.

Thoughts?

Yes you can. I do it nearly every time.

One thing to keep in mind though is that if a resort is booked up or almost booked up, Disney may not offer an AP discount for that particular resort or they may only have a couple of AP discount rooms so when your friends call, there may be none left so they would have to switch resorts if they want that AP discount.

I've had to switch resorts before to get the AP discount. Not a big deal to me but it might be to some folks.

We book with a AAA discount for the room only, and if something better comes out, like an AP discount or General room only discount then we go with that.

Thank you so much for the heads up. I will have to keep a close eye & call for them asap. In the meantime I will make ressies, than change if possible.
