annual pass room discounts vs public discount

This is probably a stupid question, but here goes. I have never used an AP room discount before. I know they are predicting public room only discounts tomorrow. How does that affect any possible AP discounts.

Here is our scenario. August dates in between the two deals (within the current Disney Visa room only deal. but we aren't Visa holders).

Already have 1 room at Coronado Springs booked.
Also need 2 rooms at All Star Movies.

So, if they release AP discounts, would that be an additional discount off the discounts released to the "public" or is an AP considered the public? Or will the AP discount be not in addition to the public discount, but better/worse/equal to it? I hope that makes sense.

With discounts you can only use 1, they do not allow you to add discounts togther, even if you qualify. Just pick which one allows you the best deal.

AP discounts = Annual Passholder discounts. They are offered only to passholders. You have to show that you have an ap upon check in.

I think you can book up to 3 rooms with you AP but, passholder must be there at check in.

I've got the rooms using AAA discount which ended up being better than the public discounts. Now, I will just wait and see how good the AP discounts are.

I generally do not book a trip until a discount comes out in this case room only came out and I booked it with my handy dandy Disney Visa. Typically the AP discount for room only is about 5% better than the GP discount. So my room is booked with the GP discount and I feel good (got a room got a discount). When the AP discount comes out I'll call and swap the discount over to it and probably save some $$.

A cm told me to try back the beginning of June. I am looking for the end of August also.

I called on May 09 to book my room at the Poly for September.

I was slightly disappointed when I found out that the discount for the Poly had dropped to 20% from the 30% that was offered earlier...

I booked, and asked the representative if the annual pass summer discount had been extended through September to match the GP summer discount. She said no, but that it probably would be extended the day of or the day after the final booking date for the AP summer discount, which I believe she said was June 14th.

I asked her if there was any chance that they might extend the AP discount before the 14th of June, and she told me that if she was me, she would call on June 01 to ask if the AP summer discount was being extended.

I said, "Oh, I shouldn't call on May 31st?..." And she said no, try on June 01st, and she laughed.. So that matches with what the previous poster said about June 01. Time will tell....

I would book the GP discount, but I need the AP rates to add the dining plan without tickets. It kind of stinks, they should just release them at the same time
