According to Orlando United, annual pass renewal rates are going up Dec. 1

Not sure if it is true, but anyone that might be affected may want to jump on renewing before then.

I just called and my Power Pass renewal would gor from roughly $160+tax to $255+tax! Yowsers! Guess I'll renew and we'll go again this time next year.

Wow. That's a big jump. Is it because the new park will be opening next year?

Old power pass is like the new seasonal pass, so the renewal rate is going to change. Wonder what the renewal rate of the seasonal pass is?

I should have asked while I had them on the line. It was quick and easy to find out if you want to call...866 727-7438.

I believe (based on the renewal increases and how much Disney increased their AP the year before Animal Kingdom opened) is that the Power/Preferred/Premium annual pass will include Volcano bay, and the newer seasonal will not. Power will probably black out the summer months of Volcano Bay

I could be wrong, but this would be the only thing that justifies that kind of renewal rate increase.

I'll be renewing my preferred pass until the day I die or when I get too old and stop going to Florida

Really....

At the prices of the p2p passes per day, figure the preferred pass would still be worth it for me for the amount of days I hit the park each year

With volcano bay being a third park, I too assume AP will be included on some of the annual passes which will raise their costs

I am not a water park type of homie but it would not sway me not to continue to renew my preferred pass

For those that enjoy water parks for vacations, I assume some will prefer having an AP for volcano bay

Sorry, newb question.

Are NEW purchase prices for APs (specifically seasonal) also going up tomorrow, or did they already have a recent increase?

To put another way: I'm likely buying one seasonal for a Feb 2017 trip (because it saves money in the long run on onsite hotel). Is there a compelling reason I should buy it TODAY?

New Annual passes just went up like the end of August/ beginning of September!

Renewals went up today:
Premier: $391.99
Preferred: $279.99
Power: $255.99
Seasonal: $207.99

Just renewals went up today, new passes went up already earlier this year:

Brand New Pass (Florida Resident) rates:
Seasonal: $259.99+tax Power: $319.99+tax Preferred: $349.99+tax Premier: $489.99+tax

Brand New Pass (non-resident):
Seasonal: $284.99 Power:$344.99 Preferred: $384.99 Premier: $539.99

Thanks atricks

Renewals did not go up as much as I thought they would

Still a great deal for me on renewing as I come out ahead by the number of days I do the parks each year

With the new rates, that is a jump for many

Relief for me too, that the renewal rate was not much more than I thought either. Eeek, a new one's rate though.

I too think the days I get in the parks and the little bit of extra off of food and stuff, I will still get my renewal price worth.

Thanks for positing atricks.

Renewed my PP Tuesday, then I booked 8 nights at RPR for next December. Room is $10 per night more than our rate for next week.

not sure if it's slow update or if it's because they quoted me the lower price, but it just let me renew at the $160.99 rate. was about to let my passes lapse since i wasn't going to pay the extra hundred.

A preferred pass that includes waterpark could arguably be compared to Disney's Premier pass that costs

$635+ (without any discounts) renewal or $745+ for a new one

Even a Gold pass with a few blackout dates (Easter & Xmas time as I recall) is

$496 renewal & $584+ new

Thanks atricks

I nearly fell over when I priced a one day park to park for early January @ $160. Ouch.

$120 more and you can renew a pref pass and likely make your money back in AP hotel discounts

Tix & annual passes are expensive, no doubt. I too had feared that U would rise dramatically the way WDW's did in 10/15.

U's push to include volcano bay as a 3rd gate vs a water park option had me thinking the APs woud rise accordingly. VB may turn out to be a wow but, as much as I enjoy WPs, it's not the same as a traditional park IMO. Don't think people should be forced to pay a 'preferred price' to have an option to visit under their AP benefits. Can't say they are, it's a modest increase, considering the WP inclusion that is forthcoming IMO.

Currently, I have U/WDW/SW APHs. Blue Friday deals were seriously lacking for SW. The BOGO AP turned into a BOGO 1/2 off. likely will let that AP go when it expires end of next year. Everybody has to do what's right for them and their budget but it's likely that many that do hold multiple APs to parks will cut back and concentrate their trips within one of them.

wow! it doesn't seem as if the preferred went up much at all. i feel like we paid around 255 or so over the summer. i will keep ours at preferred for the discounts but look into getting the power or seasonal for the children. we typically do not go during the blackout dates - but then again - next year will be our first year potentially being tied to a school schedule!
