I am thinking way ahead to Xmas/New Year 2005, but just wondered if it's possible to get Annual Pass rates for the holiday period? We would probably be arriving Dec 23/24 and staying for around 12 nights, do you think we would get the AP rate for that period?

We are already booked for next April, and I'm considering buying Annual Passes for that trip, and going back at Christmas time.

What do you think?

Most likely it will not be available for those dates, as Disney tend to not offer specials on holiday days. Always a possiblity though but he availablity will be very limited.

We have gotten the first part of the holiday week at a discount and then they switch to the reg. rate. It is a good ideal to think this far ahead as it often fills up that week far in advance.

I asked about Christmas when I was booking for my trip in October. I called at 7am the day the rates came out and could have gotten it at a fantastic rate as long as I started my ressie before the holiday season started so I think its definitely worth a try.

I just called today and got the annual passholders rate checking in 12/22 for 7 nights. Staying at CR for 149. a night. Originally going the 26th with no discount, $205. a night at CBR. The rate is good as long as you check in the 25th or sooner and good for the entire stay.

I'm sorry, but I'm confussed. Are you talking about THIS December or 2005?

If you say 2005 I have to get right on the phone, because I booked next year in May and after Thanksgiving and they have me on rack rate as of now.

If the resorts are not filling up they usually offer a discount. We booked our xmas vaca this year in March and then when the discounts came out we called and instead of staying in the moderate we upgrade to Animal Kingdom for the same price we were already paying.
Nothing is gaurenteed but I would make the rsvp and then upgrade or have the rate changed if it is offered later.

The past few years they have offered AP discounts as long as you checked in by 12/25 (some years it went to 12/26). The discount will be good for your entire stay. If you check in a day later, then no, you wouldn't be able to get a discount for the week after Christmas.

This year we are going and checking in on 12/25 and have the AP discount for 7 nights. Last year, you had to check in by 12/26 in order to get the discount. The year before that it was 12/25.

So yes, they do offer them when bookings are down, but it is too soon to know what they will do for 2005. It is a good possibility they might based on the past few years, but nothing is guaranteed.

Thanks everyone for your advice, looks like it might be a goer then. :D

What about the Dolphin? Does anyone know if they offer AP rates at that time? We have stayed there twice before, but would love to stay again, especially at Christmas time.

Thanks :D

Hiya,

I booked yesterday and got 155 for Savanah View AKL from Dec 19-26. The key is that the value season ends on the 19th, so if you book starting that day, you can get the AP rate over the whole week. :) :) :)

Now I just have to convince DH.

Beth

Thanks Beth, but as DD will be taking her exams we won't be able to go until 23rd, so will have to pay the holiday rate. :(

Anyone have any idea about the Dolphin AP rate for this period?

Thanks

i booked our ap when the discounts came out and we arrive on dec. 23 thru the 26 and all three nights i got the discount at the contemporary. the cm said you had to arrive before dec. 25th to get the discount.

We are arriving on 12/23 and have th AP rate for 9 nites. The rate of your stay is based on the day you check in. We have checked out/then in if the rate goes down after our fist nite.

We got the AP rate at the Dolphin the week after Christmas in 2000, but am not entirely sure if they still offer it. It was 50% at that time when I stayed there and my rate was around $155/night.

Does anyone know if they still offer the AP rate?

The value season may end on the 19th, but the AP discount goes through 12/25 for this year as it has in the past few years. If you check in by 12/25, the AP rate will carry you through your entire stay (if available at your resort). I know as this is what we booked this year as well as previous years. For 2005, you will have to wait until fall of next year to find out if they have AP discounts through 12/25. It all depends upon if their bookings are up.

They have shortened the number of nights on an AP rate to 10 nights now, so for longer stays you have to split your vacation and check out and back in or the discount will not show as available.
In addition for this year if you check in on or before 12/25 they are offering AP rates.

Good luck.
Sue Ellen
