Annual Pass Questions

Purchased Annual Passes online about 2 weeks ago.
Resident of Canada.

1) In My Disney Experience, should I see a link in the drop down menu for Annual Pass Discounts ?(I was told this when I called this morning.....but I cannot see it). I am able to see all my tickets and room and dining reservations.
2)Should I receive a package in the mail with Annual Pass info ?
3)I've seen 3 different answers to this question. Will I get an Annual Pass discount for a dinner reservation at Tokyo Dining in Epcot on December 3rd 2016 ?
4)We have also booked Beach Club Villas and Wilderness Lodge Villas for 26th August 2017. When would you suggest the Annual Pass room discount rates would come out for that date ?

Hey @wee-haggis,

1) I don't believe there is a link directly for the discounts on MDE, but I'm sure if you google "Disney World Annual Pass Discounts 2016" you should get direction

2) Yes, you get this cool box in the mail with your magic bands and a welcome letter. If you signed up for the newsletter it gets emailed and I believe they send one to your address as well

3) Yes, you get a 10% discount at Tokyo dining. It is not eligible for the new 20% discount:

4) This one I'm not too sure on as I haven't used my AP to book any discounted rooms yet

Regarding #2, I'm pretty sure you won't get magic bands until you ACTIVATE your pass at guest services. (source: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/passholders/park-magic-band-pick-up/)

Unless someone has better info, it would appear that you won't get them until after your initial trip to guest services.

If you’ve purchased an annual pass and don’t have a MagicBand yet, you’ll be able to order your complementary MagicBand after you activate your pass at Walt Disney World Resort.

2) You won't get any AP "stuff" (MagicBand, etc.) until after you have returned from your first trip where you use the new AP.
Sometime after you return, your MDE account will ask you to "Customize your AP MagicBand."

4) There are no guarantees of AP resort discounts on specific rooms or dates.
They announce AP resort discounts at various times. Only then can you book an AP discount room.

They wont send them to Canada unfortunately Last year we had ours sent to a UPS store across the border to get them... you may be able to have them delivered to your resort for your August trip though

#1. No. There is nothing on MDE that lists discounts. When you activate your AP at Guest Services or a ticket booth, you will get your hard AP card (you have to have this and photo ID to get any discounts) and a booklet that lists the various discounts. You should also be able to find that same info (and probably more current) on the website.

#2. You will receive nothing in the mail when you purchase the AP, other than the voucher. Once you have ACTIVATED it at WDW, then your MDE account will show that you can customize an AP magic band, and that will be sent to you. But that's all. You will also get the quarterly Mickey Monitor magazine.

#3. As mentioned, Tokyo Dining is not one of the places that is eligible for the 20% discount. You should still get the normal AP 10% discount, though.

#4. AP discounts for rooms are never a sure thing, and vary wildly by resort, dates and room type. End of August is starting to head into a slower time, so it's likely something will show up - but I wouldn't expect anything before the middle of April, probably later. And I would be really surprised if there is any AP rate at all available for BCV. But it's always possible.
