Annual Pass question

We purchased an AP and it came in the mail with our Exchange ticket. We were hoping that there would be info along with this so that we could see what type of discounts we could receive, what dining discounts, etc. But, Nothing! We cannot even log on to check out reservation discounts, etc. with this exchange ticket. It obviously is only good once it is activated at the park. How can you plan ahead when you cannot use the site ahaed of time? I don't want a bunch of information when I arrive at the park gate, but would be better for families to know what is availavle for AP holders in advance for planning activities, dining. We are planners when we come to WDW so that we can get the most out of our stay. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
