Hubby and I are planning our first trip to Universal next May. We will be staying on property.

Is it better to book a package or to book Resort separately and purchase tickets?

If I purchase annual passes now, will they still be good in May 2019?

Thanks for the info!!

Most of the time better to book room only. Can cancel without fee up to 5 days before check in with a room only. There are change fees if you make any changes to a package.

Right now, Universal is giving 3 free months to an AP. This, if buy now, will be good 15 months from activating.

One more question, would the activation be our first visit to the park in May?

Yes, and you can do it at a kiosk or at hotel or guest devices. I would print out your receipt, and make sure you bring the credit card used to buy your pass if using the kiosk.

Could you please let me know where you saw the 3 months free? I looked on the universal website and didnt see it Thanks!

Was on AP Facebook page, and I think in my please renew pass letter. At first it was only until a few months ago, but they extended it. So happily, I will renew in August and get two October trips in before I have to renew again.

Your annual pass is good the first time you go through the turnstiles with it. You can purchase it online but it must either be picked up at the hotel ticket desk or at a ticket booth or guest services.

You used to be able to get them at the kiosks but since they are now plastic, they are no longer able to be spit out at the kiosks.
