Annual Pass Question

I called Disney and ordered Deluxe APs for my family a few months ago. We had planned on picking them up and using them for the first time on Sunday, November 27th. We will actually be arriving on Saturday, but that day is blocked out for Deluxe APs. I remember reading somewhere that APs are never blocked out for the first day of use. Is that true? Can we pick up the APs on Saturday and use them that day?

Yes, that is true! When you pick up your APs, you will just need to ask for a special day pass for Saturday. I've done it a few times. Have fun!!

Can I add a question to the thread? We are first time annual passholders. Trying to decide whether to renew. I heard there is a discount for renewing before they expire. Any truth to that and do you know how much it is? I am really torn or whether to renew. Between the crowds and the constant ride closures and breakdowns, I am just not sure if it is worth it and might want to wait to renew until we at least want to go for the first time after the pass expires.

There is a discount if you renew before the pass expires. It's $60 off on signature plus, $50 off signature, $40 off deluxe, $20 off the more expensive SoCal pass, and $10 off the cheaper SoCal pass. Whether or not it's worth it to renew or wait depends on your usage patterns.

That is what I am going to do. Even with my $50 off, if I am not going to attend for a couple months anyway, I think it's a better deal to pay full price later and have the extra time tacked on to when I am more likely to use it.

Hmmm. . . that's a tough call. With 4 annual passes that a 200 dollar savings. Probably not worth risking ticket prices going up plus losing the savings to get an extra month. The question is whether to renew at all. This trip coming up the first week of December will be the deciding factor.
