We are going to Disney this December 2002, and next October 2003. So we are deciding to get the annual Pass. However my sister is going to be tring to have a kid next year, she said if she is in her last months of pregnancy she is not going next October. My question is would my brother be able to use her annual passes in her place. Second question when I go back next yesr in Oct 2003, do I have to anything with my AP, or can I just go stright to the parks.
Thanks

In theory, the answer to the question is NO. The entry system for each park is semi-complex. When you use any pass, be it a 3 Day Hopper, of an AP, you must enter your Index and Middle finger into a scanner. Upon your first time through, information is incripted onto your pass, and stays there. (Supposedly, everyone's hand is different, and the equipment is sensitive enough to detect these small differences.) Then, each time you go back, when you swipe your card, you put the fingers in the slot, and it scans them to make sure the information on the card matches the information that was scanned from your finger. So in theory, you can't switch a card with someone else.

Now after all that BS, here's something that will throw it way off. One time, I got my pass mixed up with my fathers, but still entered through the system with no problem. Me being 6'3'', and 200 lbs, have much different fingers than my 5'7'' 180 lb dad. So this leads me to believe that the Hi-Tech mombo jumbo I gave to you in the last section is for schnicket!

So technically, and legally, you're not supposed to do this. BUT there's a chance it might work. I don't want to get the rinky dink Moral Mouse Police on me, so if you wish to try it, that's your call. I think the Hi Tech stuff might just be a bunch of crap. Or maybe I got in as a fluke. Who Knows?

When the finger scan doesn't match the stored biometrics, the turnstile shows a message to the CM that says "Check I.D." The CM is supposed to ask you for a picture ID to verify you are the person your AP says you are. But this doesn't always happen particularly if it's during the park opening rush.

If you are caught using someone else's AP, you will be refused entry into the park and the person who owns the AP will have it revoked.

BUT ----- the finger scans are only for AP's. If you are using it for any other tickets, it doesn't care anyway. And the CM will check your ID if the scan does not match on the AP...

Since others answered your first question, I'll take this one. When you return on future trips withan AP you have already used, nothing special needs to be done. You just go to the parks and use your pass. We have had AP's for years and definitely recommend them if you are sure you will go twice in one year, or even one long trip.
