Annual Pass Question

I purchased an annual pass (2 park preferred) online last month for our upcoming May trip. Now it looks like we might not make it to Universal this time and I need to know if I can still use the pass for a future trip or if my 12 months already started to expire at time of purchase. I need to know if the annual pass is activated immediately at time of purchase or not until I use it for the first time at the gate. Can I save it for a future trip? Thanks!

Also, it says I can park for free as an annual pass holder, but not for my first visit. What exactly do they mean by "first visit" - first day, or entire first trip?

The pass is activated the first time through the turnstile.:thumbsup2 You have to go to guest services first to redeem your AP then go through the turnstile.

Yup. And once you've done this once, you will get free parking.

Can I add a question to this discussion??

If the pass is not activated until you go through the turnstyles at the park, is there anyway to book a Universal Resort hotel with the AP discount before your trip?? I have plans for two trips in 2012 and was planning to get an AP and make use of the on-site resort discounts. How does this work? Can we book at the regular rate and have it adjusted when we arrive or will we have to show up and HOPE we can get a room?? :scared1:

Just book at the AP price. When you arrive tell them you already purchased it and you need to pick it up. They will have you show it to them sometime during your trip. If you don't produce the pass, you will be charged rack rate for your stay.:thumbsup2

Thank you, that seems simple enough. :goodvibes I wasn't sure I would be able to book with the AP rate since I wouldn't be "in the system" yet.

They don't check any numbers in the system, they just check to see if you have it. Now if you wan't to book a show for Blue Man Group with an AP discount, you will need to provide them with your pass number first to look up your account to see if its valid.:thumbsup2

They don't ask for your AP number when you book so you're fine. When viewing the loews site to book online, put "promotion" in the first box and "APH" in the second to see and book the AP rates.

Just be sure to show them the pass during your stay or you'll end up with a big surpise at checkout!
