Annual Pass Question

I think I have done enough digging around the boards to answer my own question, but I want to be sure.

I have several trips to WDW either booked or planned for 2011. The first is in February. Now that I’m a DVC member it makes sense for me to purchase AP’s for the family, at the discounted price, rather than separate tickets for each trip. My initial concern was what if the DVC discount goes away between now and February. However, I now understand that, when you purchase the AP’s through DVC, you actually get a voucher that you can later trade in for your AP. And, this voucher never expires. Assuming this is correct, it would make sense for me to go ahead and purchase my AP’s now at the discounted rate and then wait until February to trade them in for the actual Annual Passes.

Am I understanding all this correctly? :scratchin

The main reason to pre-purchase an exchange voucher is to avoid a price increase. Prices were just raised this past August and have gone up in August for the last several years. I don't believe that the member discount on APs will go away any time in for forseeable future.

Also, you don't have to pre-purchase an exchange voucher. You can get the member price if you purchase APs on-site at WDW. You need to show them your membership card and they will sell you the DVC member priced AP. All adults need to have a government issued id with photo showing the same address as the member to get a member priced AP.
