Annual pass purchase for adult children

We'll have to agree to disagree. Between the vast majority of people who don't know they need to lie, and the majority of people who raise their children to be honest, I can't imagine that "many" would operate this way. Ma Be I just have more faith in humanity, but there's simply no way to quantify it as "many."
Indeed we will agree to disagree.
I used to have the faith, but have been proven wrong time and again.

I think you're wrong. Most people don't realize they have to lie to "get away with something" until after they've answered the question truthfully. Will you really coach your children to lie? And will they remember to lie when a CM asks them a direct question?

I actually do have first hand experience with this with both a theme park and a ski resort and I'd say you are correct that most don't/won't but some do. And then not all of them will coach their kids, they'll try to get a reduced price on their own, but a very few will try and coach the kids. It's rare for a child to not tell their actual age though. I really don't think I ever had a child lie on that, much to the chagrin of a parent or two. Sometimes that opportunity did not present itself and you just smiled and sold the childs pass/ticket or let the young ones in for free.

Bwahahahaha!!
Kat, I don't always agree with you, but completely respect you as a poster and your Disney knowledge.

That said, the good folks here on the Dis do not represent the masses.
Like it or not, most families will do whatever it takes to save $5 on vacation.
That's just the real world.

I doubt they have it on file, and if you're trying to get away with something nobody would answer it correctly.
Annual Passholder for 23 years. Nobody ever asked my DOB.

Again, my question stands.

MG
They don't have to ask if your showing your DL as ID, unless you doing something that requires a DOB they would have no reason to ask. They have always asked for both my DVC card and DL when picking up AP's

I agree many do but "MOST" I think are honest, if fact I would say most do not even consider it they just buy the correct ticket,

Did they know he was 20, or did you just refer to him as your son?

The cm had to look his ticket up in mde, and his age is listed there. The cm did not ask his age, or for his ID. He just asked me for $133. :)

I won't, but yes, I do believe many will coach their kids to lie. Unfortunate to be sure, but I'm betting it's true.

MG
Many will coach their kids to lie or will lie on their behalf. I remember one child I asked their age and the answer "3 except when at Disney them I'm 2".

To the original question, I would suspect the same options would apply as are required for the FL residency discount as found here https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/florida-residents/validation-requirements/ even though it says DL or state ID under the pass requirements. But it's possible that by changing one's DL DVC will refuse the pass option. I'd call and ask, I'd be willing to bet there are options unless they've changed their legal residence such as registering to vote in the alternate location.

To pick up her DVC AP, DD has had to provide a DL matching our home address, every single time since she turned 18.
We put her on our last contract.....now she still has to show a DL, but also is a member with access to all DVC perks & discounts :thumbsup2
I did this too a couple of years ago. Her wedding was in September, I need to check to see if her husband is now eligible for the AP discount.

We bought a DVC gold pass for our college aged son yesterday. We needed to show proof of address for him. We have had to do this every time when purchasing passes for our college age kids.

Have you checked your profile in the MDE website? I was On it the other day and under my profile my dob was listed. So check my 11 year old granddaughter and her dob was listed. I guess they took this info from my ID and entered the info upon activation. Guess the same for my granddaughter too since she has a state issued DMV ID. The grandkids travel with us without their folks so all have a WV state issued ID.
