Annual Pass Hotel Rate

Hey, all! I have a quick question regarding AP hotel rates. My family was considering buying UO annual passes. One of the main reasons was to get discounted hotel rates. We were planning on going Labor Day weekend, but when we compared rates, we found that UO hotels were cheaper on a reputable third party site (which we've used a lot in the past) than directly through Universal with the annual pass rate. Is this a normal occurrence? Is this only happening due to the holiday weekend? Is there any benefit to booking hotel rooms through UO as an AP member if it's cheaper on a different site?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So, I just figured out what happened. I thought what I was looking at automatically gave me APH rates. They are out of APH rate rooms for that weekend. Would they ever release more APH rate rooms or should we just go with the other website?

Go with whatever is cheaper - they may release more AP room rates depending on bookings, but they may not. Like anything else, you may save more buying now, or you may save more waiting and scoring the AP rate.

Either way, it's a fun vacation :cheer2:

Where are you guys checking out the AP rates? Can I check them if I don't have an AP yet?

If you haven't checked out this sticky: https://www.disboards.com/threads/o...for-universal-loews-hotel-properties.3771155/ , I recommend you do. The first page has the AP rate direct link and in it you can see what APH discount rates people have secured (you should also post your rates so others can benefit). It's been helpful to me over the years to get a ball park of what I might expect and when it might drop.
This sticky helps with all the rates https://www.disboards.com/threads/official-2021-2020-onsite-hotel-date-rate-thread.3777289/
