I have tried searching for a thread on this and am not having any luck. Any help I can get with this would be great.

I just moved to Vegas and have figured out my vacation times for the rest of the year. It just so happens that this includes 3 visits to SoCal and DISNEYLAND!!!!!

That includes:
4 days in May Th, Fri, Sat, Sun
4 days in July Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri
4 days in October Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun

Only one of all these dates are a blackout date for the annual pass and that is the Saturday during my trip in May. I have heard you can change your ticket into an annual pass rather than pay for the $40 for a blackout date. Is this correct? Just wondering what the best way to do this is?
-Buy a 4-day for my May trip and then change it? Do I get full credit for the amount I spent or just on the days left when I make it an annual pass?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Pat

Buy your ticket and then change it to AP on the last day. You'll get full credit for the total price of your ticket to apply to your AP. Your AP will then be dated to the first day you used your ticket.

Doing it on the last day is also ideal since you'll lose early entry with your AP.

[edit]and be sure you upgrade while your ticket is still valid - you don't get credit on an expired ticket.

Which date is the blackout date? Hopefully its during your first visit before the last day, that way you can upgrade to an AP and get credited the price of your four day tickets.

Will you be staying at one of the Disney Hotels? If so, you will get MM on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday would be the blackout day if you had the Deluxe AP. If you aren't staying on site, I would do MM on Thursday or Saturday and upgrade to the AP on Saturday, the day you normally would be blocked. That way you can start using your AP for food discounts on Saturday.

ITA with this post. You can use your PH pass until Saturday, get in on Saturday and then upgrade to your AP. Then start using the dining and shopping discounts. :)

Thank you all! That is absolutely perfect. I would have never thought to go in and then upgrade on Saturday.

See thats the thing i wonder about.... I'm going to be getting an AP because i want the food discounts.... but then i'm gonna miss out on MM...... I'm not sure if we would even use them cause were not morning people... last time we just went later in the day.... maybe 11 and stayed all day.... i'm not sure about this time though cause the kids will be older so might be getting up eairlier???? Maybe i will try to plan the 1st day as a MM day so we can do and i cna get my pass that day, casue were not 100% sure were gonna upgrade the kids yet....
