I am trying to connect with my inlaws on my DH's MDE - they are AP holders and always use my FILs MDE. I sent requests to both people separately via their email accounts and only my FIL is able to accept.

Is this because MIL does not have an MDE? Can she be added to our list with her AP and not have an MDE?

Can I invite my MIL to share plans (so I can make FP ressies for her and FIL) if she does not have an MDE but does have an AP? To date my FIL has had the only MDE (that they are aware of) and he has made all of their plans together for their trips without us (They live in FL).

FIL is now connected to my DH's MDE, but they have not been able to successfully accept the invite that was emailed to her - it sends her to FILs MDE home page when she logs in with her email address and password.

She can't accept the invite because she is managed in your FIL's MDE and doesn't have her own account.

Add her name to your Family list and see the options that should pop up telling you she is managed by FIL and do you want to add her etc.

Im not following your suggestion as when I added her name nothing popped up about her being managed by FIL, nor in inviting him did anything offer to add her too or tell me he managed her.

So on my DH's MDE F&F it says Invitation Pending for MIL and below her name it says "You manage this account" which it also said for FIL before he accepted his invite and now it just says "FIL name has a Disney account" below his name.

In MY old original MDE (which has old MBs I hope to use for SDFP+ this trip) I had invited MIL and FIL and somehow they both accepted at the time without issue. They each say under their Name and Character pic "MIL's name has s Disney Account" and "FIL name has a Disney Account" - nothing about him managing her, even when I go into the edit screen in MY MDE

Interestingly, when FIL (over the phone) was reading me her (MILs) info from his MDE, he did not have the screen that shows her Magic Bands and tickets, just the screen I get when I see his account - meaning the screen you get when you dont manage the account, but are linked to someone.

Is it possible that she has an MDE account and they dont know? Do all AP holders have one whether they create it or not or do couples buying APs often just have one MDE?

Unsure what to do and prefer not to call in or have them call in and ask so that a helpful CM does not link us to my old MDE and DH new MDE (clones bad!)

Yes, she has an MDE account because she is connected to your MDE by the invite you sent her.

Have your DH invite your MDE to join his and see if everyone then shows up in the combined grouping.

Hopefully you altered names before your DH made his MDE.

You should be okay.

Are your tickets already linked to DH's MDE? If they aren't, link them to your MDE because everyone is already listed there. His MDE can be used for SDFPs.

If tickets are already linked, your two sets of names will be okay and the system won't merge them.

I guess would be surprised if MIL showed up in his MDE friends/family just by DH inviting my original MDE and me accepting the invite - since I dont manage her...

Or, invite his MDE to join yours.

They were/are both connected to my MDE already - have been since 2013. And FIL is connected to DHs MDE as of the invitation and acceptance today - just MIL who we cannot connect with the invitation sent today - she cannot accept it as it sends her to FILs MDE and no message in there asking her to accept it.

OH! You mean invite my DH to join mine. But this does not help with scheduling FP+ at 60days for the 6 of us since the Room res and tix are linked to DH's MDE. It wont allow me to schedule FPs at 60 days from my MDE for 6 F and F who have tix/APs and resort ressies if I dont have them, correct?

This is going to be a little confusing but I'll give it a shot to explain...

1: make sure the mde accounts are all linked correctly. If they are appearing with "name has a Disney account" under my family and friends then they are linked. anything else the accounts aren't linked yet. It will be on the left directly next to their photo and under their name that this will appear.

2: in order to see anything you schedule for them, they have the ability to block you from seeing this. You can only setup what you allow them to see from your account, they have to setup the opposite. It's the view all activities options when you edit the person your linked with.

As far as scheduling...

Everything will work the same as people in your party under your mde account. If your mde is linked to your DH, then you can do it for everyone but they also need to be linked to your account.

However all the rules apply to their tickets and reservations for fast pass. 60 days fp+ requires an on property resort. if they are arriving 2 days later than you, then they aren't at the 60 day mark yet.. etc etc... The system is actually pretty smart with popping up everyone you can select when you make the reservation if the accounts are linked correct and they are eligible for the fp+ on the same days you are.

I do this all the time with my daughter, we both have our AP in our own accounts, I generally have the resort reservaton and we're both linked together and either of us can make ADR or FP+ for the other. The system knows who has what tickets and what reservation, etc. I also have an upcoming trip with my sister where she has her own tickets and resort, and my daughter and myself have our normal setup. anyone can adjust anyone else as far as ADR or fp+ is concerned.

So you can make FP reservations in your own MDE for linked people with resort reservations and tickets even if you, the acct owner and people you manage, don't have tickets or resort reservations.

And if that works it would also work if I didn't want to link to DH I could make my in laws FP reservations on my MDE and our 4 in his MDE, but that would be less efficient for getting times to match and making changes etc.... Correct?

This would be easy if MIL could just accept the invitation from DH's MDE. Still can't figure out why she can't and her email address works for FILs MDE account and his email address also works for it. I thought you had one email, address option and that's it.
