Our trip coming up (SOON :cool1::cool1:) will be our first trip with annual passes.

My husband asked me if we use our annual pass or our rook key card to get our fast passes.....and I didn't know :confused3

How does that work?

You get the fast passes with your park admission, not with your room key. So if you have your park admission on your room key, use that. If your park admission is on a separate card, use that.

Last year we thought we had 'lucked out' when, at check in, they put our annual passes on our KTTW. We thought, "Great, we actually got a hard plastic AP. No more cheap paper passes!" Good feeling all went away when we attempted to use our AP discount at World of Disney.

There is no space allotted on a KTTW card to put your passholder ID number, which is required to use your discount. By attempting to make our life easier, the check in cast member actually made it harder, since we ended up at DTD's ticket counter having our AP and KTTW separated, and new cards reissued. Only then could we go back to WoD and purchase using our discount.

So, if they try to combine everything on your KTTW, insist on having them separated.

I'm surprised they did that. I thought the reason you could not buy an AP at a resort is because they cannot put it on a room key. It has to have the printing on the back with your pass expiration date.

You're right. I actually misremembered one of my facts. We checked in, then went to DTD to buy our AP's, where the ticket agent offered to put the new AP's on the KTTW cards. We didn't see any drawback, until later at WoD.
