Annual Pass exchange certificate question

Quick question -- I have an Annual Pass exhange certificate. Just got it in the mail. Let me know if I have this right:

If I go to the official WDW Annual Passholder's web pages and "register" the exchange cert., this does not start my 1-year AP clock, correct?

So I can register my exchange certificate on the WDW website today (in order to gain access the annual passholder website pages) but my pass remains unactivated, and my year of entry to the parks doesn't start until I actually use it at the parks months from now?

This sounds right, but thought I'd better ask the experts here...

1- That does NOTHING regarding your actual park usage timing.

2- Yup.

3- Your year starts when you exchange the voucher for an actual AP at WDW (not necessarily when you first USE the AP.)
