Annual pass discounts?

We're not from CA, so we have only 2 options for the annual passes, if we choose to get one for us.

Are there ever any discounts/sales on these either through Disney or AAA or another company?

Also, if we were say to get passes today. We they then be valid until October 2012 or are they based on a calendar year of Jan - Dec and then better to wait till January to buy them?

They are valid one year from first use, not from date of purchase. In other words, if you buy the voucher online, your year doesn't start until you're at the park.

There are not discounts on annual passes through any organization of which I'm aware.

If my memory serves me correct, the only AP discounts I've ever seen are for members of some of the California Teacher's Associations...which excludes most of us.

There is a $20 discount for DVC members when buying a AP.

I got our APs through military at like $50 discount...just sayin.

Nice to hear there is a military discount. Should be more though!
A couple of years back Costco had Deluxe at a discount but I haven't seen anything lately.
