Okay, so a lot of you know that I'm a new Annual Passholder. Well, today I recieved my AP magicband. It also came with the AP slider and the discount card.

Since I live in Florida, I see a ton of cars driving around with an "Annual Passholder" magnet. I was always jealous of it lol. Well, I thought it for sure was going to come with the magic bands. But alas, no magnet. I know it's not a big deal, I'm not angry or anything, just curious. Was it forgotten? Did they discontinue the magnets? I was thinking that maybe it'll come in a seperate envelope or something, because the CM mentioned I would get a welcome packet or something.

Anywho, thanks to anyone that can help! I'll show a picture of it:

We received them about 3 or 4 years ago when we renewed our passes in a Mickey Monitor issue, but have not gotten any since then. Wish they would send them out again someone stole mine off my car:(

Ok! I can help with this. We bought out APs in early February 2015. Activated them in mid May. And just last week we got A mailing with a pass holder magnet just like your pic. Odd thing is- we activated four passes at the same time. Two adults. Two kids. And the mailing with the magnet came in my 9 yr olds name. He was the only one that got one. So odd. Random maybe???

Thanks for the help! I'm excited to get it :)

Aww, your son must've been really excited to get a letter!

I actually emailed WDW about this bc I want my magnet dang it! Ha. I haven't activated my AP yet. I was told when I do activate it, I would get the magnet sometime after that and that it usually takes at least a few weeks.

Can't help to wonder, is there a "Value" to the magnet? Is there a "Need" for the magnet? Does it making it so you can park in the lots without paying? Or is it just a "Status" thing showing your pride of being an AP holder?

The reason I ask, is that we are probably going to be AP holders soon. I am one of those people who don't put this kind of stuff on my vehicles. I don't like what they can do the finish of a car (fading around the magnet but not under the magnet or the scratching from constant removal/replacing of magnet).

Also if there is a "Value" to it, isn't there a worry of it being stolen? Just wondering. Unless it was something I needed for some reason, I could see it ending up decorating my refrigerator instead of my car.

As far as I know, there is no real value to it. No real purpose. It is just for those that are proud to be AP holders. It may very well end up on the fridge for me, but for the cost of an AP, I appreciate any little token of thanks they want to give me. :)

I agree. For the cost, every little perk helps.

We are considering the pass because we are planning on being there in November and again in June. So it will make sense given the cost of the tickets even bought separately on the 2 different trips. (One is a 7 day pass the other will be somewhere between 6 and 8 day pass)

I honestly never thought I would have an AP! But now I am thinking I will move to Orlando next summer. I've planned trips for July, December and February, so it made more sense to get the AP and I will likely spend a lot more time in the parks than I had planned to. Once the no-expiration 10 day pass when away this makes the most sense.

For my July trip I would have likely only done 2 park days, now I'm going to be in the parks every day I am in Orlando. 2 full days, but 5 partial days. My December trip I would have done 2 park days, now I am doing 4. And Feb would have been 3 but now I am doing 4 or 5. Plus I will likely go in the spring and for the 24 hour event since I have the AP! Will definitely get a lot of use out of it! SO excited!

Completely a "status" item, only. Has no actual value. I just think it looks cool ;)

Cool Looking? Yup. Still don't want to put it on my truck.

I am glad it's not a requirement (like for parking or something like that). Not that I wouldn't want to have one, just not on my vehicle (I'd prefer a window sticker if it was required to be on the vehicle)

We received ours with our Magic Band shipment the last time. Before, it came with the latest Mickey Monitor after we renewed.

Well now Universal also has an AP magnet, just got mine in their newsletter.

My boyfriend and I have been passholders for 3 years (with 1 year break in between). We were mailed the magnet about 6 months after we signed up the second time. We were never mailed one for that first year we had it. My boyfriend's was stolen off his car about 3 months after he put it on. :( We have inquired at a few different places on property for a replacement, but haven't had any luck.

There are no perks that I know of.

Well gosh, I don't ever get pin codes and now I didn't get my AP magnet. I'm beginning to feel like the redheaded step child here (no offense to redheaded step children the world round, it's a southern expression). I just renewed my AP last week but my first one doesn't expire until the 22nd so maybe I'll get one later.

It came with the Mickey Monitor. I had two. My husband 'lost' one at the car wash. The one I still have is on the refrigerator. I'm afraid that will disappear if it were on my car, when he washes my car again.
