Can anyone tell me if there is a thread on the boards with information on the benefits of buying an Annual Pass?

I've read about room discounts being worth the extra cost of the pass, and am I right in thinking only one person needs to buy one to get the discount for the whole family?

yes thats right. Also free parking and discounts on restaurants etc... only one person needs to have the pass

It used to be that after 8 days it would break even vs the Annual pass vs park hopper.. but there are some great deals to be found regarding tickets right now and unless you plan on taking two trips with your AP's or you will get big savings on accomodation.. it might not be worth your while getting an AP.

You get loads of stuff. The full list can be found under info central at www.intercot.com but some of the things I'll be using it for are:

Room discount
Free Parking
Exclusive merchandise
Dining discount
Merchandise discount
Tour discount

I saved enough alone in the room discount on AKL to pay for two annual passes. I do intend to use them both next year again so even better value!

Thought of another one. If you get an AP and buy a Pal Mickey, you get a free t-shirt (for him!!).

This alone has to be worth getting one. :rotfl: ;)

Thanks for the info, I'm learning so much from these boards!!

Check out the Paris boards for more precise details but I am going to buy an Ap for there as well this October! It allows you to get certain discounts but to the best of my knowledge the room only discounts are quite lousy! You do save on other things as well but I'm buying it cause I'm going for 7 days and it works out the best value. Someone else will keep you right!

I agree with everything Maleficent Man has said. There are loads of benefits out there. The beauty of it is if you arent able to get an AP rate on a disney hotel you dont have to buy one. You can book the rate without the pass so long as you have the voucher or pass to check in. You can also get an AP rate at the Swan and Dolphin.
