Annual pass and pkg?

I am bringing a friend on our June trip to OKW. She also has a trip planned in October with her sister. It would save her some money to get an annual pass to cover both trips. If she gets an AP in June will that mess up her trip in October? It is booked as a pkg with dining plan.

I hope I explained this clearly enough! Any help or ideas would be appreciated. TIA!

Get the MYW pass with the package and she can upgrade hers to an AP after she gets there, she should upgrade after entering the park.

If she gets an AP in June she can probably have her package for October changed to an AP rate with dining plan. She would need to call Disney to do it or wait till the AP room rate discounts come out for that time.

Sounds like she needs park tickets for your June, 2013 trip and already booked a package that includes dining and tickets for her October, 2013 trip.

To get dining for her October trip, she has to also buy tickets - at least the minimum.

It will probably be less expensive for her to get an annual pass that covers both trips when she goes for the June trip. (Depends on the number of days she plans to be in the parks, so she'll have to do the math).

But that means she'll have to either keep the tickets she bought for her October trip for another time or cancel the package and book room only. It's possible Disney will offer a package for annual passholders that includes dining (and no requirement to buy tickets), but unless there is already an offer for that out there now, you can't count on it). She may be able to snag an AP discounted room. Again, you can't count on it.

She has a decision to make.

Unless she is immediate family and lives in your household, you would not be able to get her the DVC pricing on the AP.

Who is eligible to receive the Annual Pass discount?
Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount on the Pass for themselves and their immediate family residing in the same household only. At the time of purchase or redemption, your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card must be provided and ALL ADULTS must present a valid driver's license or state identification card showing they reside in the same household.

Who is defined as "immediate family"?
"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below: Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner, Parent/Step Parent, Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law, Child/Step Child, Brother/Stepbrother, Sister/Stepsister, Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law, Grandparent, and Grandchild.

If she does not qualify based on the above test, she would pay $574 plus tax for an AP.

Yeah I know. In October she has a 7 day base ticket and in June she would need a 7 day PH so it would save her about $62 to get an AP. Not sure that's enough for her to even worry about changing her October reservation.

Sorry, I misunderstood. For October, she can get an AP package with dining, no additional ticket required. Others in the room can buy a MYW separate if they want. You just can't get free dining with an AP.
