Annual Pass and Parking question?

The annual pass gets free parking at the parks I am told. Do you need any identification other than the magic band to get free parking? Is there also a card I need and if so how/where do I get it? I am new to the annual pass.

When you get your annual pass at the park you should get a card to show for discounts If you order online you still have to go to GS with ID etc to activate it. Once it is activated it might show up on your MB? I never drive to park so am not sure but think that might work If you stay on property they still give you the paper thing for your car window.

I am also interested in this answer. Particularly for the first day when we will not have activated our APs at GS yet, but will have our magic bands when we drive through the gate.

When I go to the parks, they have been asking for the discount card that you get with your MB and a photo ID, like a driver's license.

When the bands first started they were enough to get free parking, since you had to be in a resort property to get one.

Now that you can just buy one in the store, they have to be more diligent.

I would think scanning them should be enough, but does anyone know for sure?

I use the buses so do not know for sure but I think when I went with my DD family this summer and they drove in they scan band but you also have the thing in your window that says you are staying on property. I would have ID ready... some would not have card if they did not activate the pass?

A few years back we drove to MK to get our APs. I showed them our will call printout and they let us in without charge.

With MB or AP card, it's hit and miss with ID. More often we are "carded" for MK than other parks. It's more so when you're going during busy times. By mid-afternoon, they don't even bother scanning the MB.

As others have said, hit or miss on being asked for a photo ID when using the annual pass at the parking lot. However, if you're staying on property, the parking pass they give you at check-in gets you waved right through every time.

I've read that someone had to pay for parking, and when they were at guest relations picking up their annual pass, they gave the parking receipt to the CM and they reimbursed the parking fee.

Last time I was there, they do not have scanners at the parking entrances, so you need the card. As others have said, it is very hit or miss depending on the attendant if they require ID.

It is actually a pet peeve of mine, if we have magic bands that can do a transaction, I am surprised they have not integrated the systems so that they can detect the discount as well. I have to still carry my wallet in order to buy anything so I have my ID and card...but the whole point was to remove those inconveniences.

I suspect it is more to continue to gain revenue from people that don't know they get a discount.

Those MB are not for us or our convenience it for them and their money making tracking of what you are doing and where you are going....They didn't spend that kind of money on this system to make it easier for us to get fast passes etc. Its for them to make more money off you.. Everything worked fine before them, and we still have to have our AP card pass and ID etc .You better have it if your MB doesn't work or your in trouble and if you need a discount... or perk
