Hi,

We were thinking of getting an annual pass and wondering if pass holders get a discount on disneyland resort hotels. Our dates for the first trip are Nov 13- Nov 18 and we plan on staying at the disneyland hotel. Is there any way to check this without purchasing the pass first? Thanks!

Disney does occasionally offer discounts on DLR hotels, but I don't see any available currently or for your trip. Just a quick check of Disneyland's website shows a standard room at the DLH for 11/13-18 is $407/night. I logged into my account (with a Signature AP) and got the same prices. I don't think there's any way you can check for yourself without getting an AP first, but people on this board are pretty good at helping others look up AP discounts.

You can call Disney to get the AP rates. You'll have to book by phone if you don't have an AP prior to booking.

Many good neighbor hotels offer an AP discount but AP discounts at the DLR hotels are fewer and often dont come out until closer to you trip dates

Thanks for all the quick responses! So is it better to wait until closer to the dates to get a better rate or will the current rate pretty much stay the same (i.e. do rates drop the closer the date gets)? Thanks!

You should book your room as soon as you're sure of your dates. A reservation requires a first night's deposit, but it's fully refundable without a fee if you cancel at least 5 days before your arrival date. If your plans change or you find a better rate, you can cancel, get refunded, and rebook before then.

As long as you're not booking a pre-paid rate, if that's where you're staying, book the hotel, and if the rates go down, call and have it adjusted.

The Disney visa is offering better discounts than ap right now. It's sun-thu only tho

Yes, there are usually AP discounts for the Resort Hotels usually ranging in the 10%...less or not al all during peal times, more other times. There are also offers occasionally that are BETTER than the AP discounts.

As others mentioned, you do not need to have an AP to check and book the AP rate. You just need to present the AP before you check out for your stay...so you can book, arrive, buy your AP then still get the discount. You will need to call to book and check rates if you do not have the AP in hand yet.

Not sure if you have a Disney Visa but they are offering a deal during your dates that would be similar to an AP discount.

I wasn't aware that the Disney visa offered vacation package deals. How much is the discount? The standard room rate is $407/night on those days (11/13 to 11/18). I tried to find info about it on the disney visa site but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Does it matter which Disney Visa? It looks like there are two types-- the Disney Premier ($49 annual fee) and the Disney Rewards (no annual fee). Thanks!

They both should work, I go with the $49 fee one cause I get more money back (% on purchases) and the deal to sign up is better ($100 or $200 back)
