I see this offer ends on 20th December. Does anyone know if the tickets have to be used by that date or whether they have to be used by any date at all? We go next April, so wondering if this offer would work for us.

Also, my annual pass expires tomorrow, so if renew it today, would my pass be considered 'activated' so I would be able to buy the discount tickets, or wouldn't it be considered activated until I actually visit the park next April ie do I have to get a new AP card or do I just carry on using the one I have?

Sorry for so many questions, hope someone can help!

Thanks

The tickets have to be purchased by 12/20...not used by then. You can renew your AP and would be considered activated. You can keep the current AP you have as long as it doesn't pass the 30 day renewal window.

Thanks so much once again for your quick answers. :thumbsup2

My AP is the old style issued 2 years ago, it has my photo on, so I would be OK to keep that one would I? Thanks

I'm assuming the 30 day renewal window allow me to renew up to 30 days after my AP expiry date ie expiry date is 27th Oct 08 so I would be allowed to renew it up to 30 days after that? Sorry for so many questions, just want to make sure I'm covered!

Yes...you can keep your current pass...just make sure the 30 day window doesn't expire.

you can call and renew your pass over the phone.

if you let it expire, the replacement ap will not have your picture on it.
and the pass itself is a different material than the older ones....

mine is the hard plastic credit card type with the pic.
it's an older one.

Is it possible to buy an AP now (by phone) and then purchase tickets before December 20. I go quite often to Disney and would probably use an AP to US, but would like to purchase some tickets for my grandkids to use this summer, too.

yup.........

as long as you renew within the allowed time period, your pap of hard plastic like a credit card with pic, will always be valid.

if you lose your ap, your replacement is that flimsy paper one without the picture....

I just returned yesterday and while at USF I stopped by the guest relations office and purchased 2 day 2/park tickets for my adult kids and grandkids for August 2009. They do not expire, but the 2 day tickets have to be used within 6 days after the first time they are used. There is no expiration date on the tickets. THis is a great deal and the second time I've used it this year.

No, I called them a few weeks ago. You must physically be there to activate your AP before they let you buy the tickets. Too bad, think of all the extra revenue they are missing out on potential AP buyers.

My flimsy piece of paper is really started to look quite war torn.

Also, the picture system works much better than the average of 3 tries it takes to successfully use the lousy finger print scanner.

That's my main gripe about Universal's scanner...it doesn't work! When the hand held scanner is used...no problem but when the main scanner is used...problem. I don't know why management hasn't addressed the problem. :headache:
