Annual Pass 13 mo expiration

I activated mine last Fri after buying it in July. I was also pleasantly surprised that I got the 13 months as well. My kids won't be activating theirs until Thanksgiving week. Since theirs will expire Dec 20 of 2017, we may squeeze in another trip Thanksgiving week 2017 if all goes well this Thanksgiving! We are also going for 9 days next June.

I'm excited!!

Our passes expired 9/5, and I of course renewed them right before then. MDE says we have "Ecxhange Certificates" since we haven't been to the parks since before renewal. But we are headed up for our anniversary tomorrow and it looks like that when we activate the certificates we will get the 13 months...

How nice!!

Ok, so I have an annual pass that expires Nov 5. I wasn't planning on renewing until January 2017. Now it seems like it makes sense to renew before the expiration to get the renewal savings, since with 13 months I really won't be losing that much time...thoughts? I have a gold pass, so many of the dates that I am "losing" will be blacked out anyways.

With the 13 months, looks like the renewed pass would expire on December 5, 2017. Seems like a no-brainer to renew if you don't plan to visit between 12/5 & whatever date in January 2018 the new pass would expire - and as you say, the Holiday weeks are blacked out for the GOLD pass.

We got the annual pass this year and will get three trips (about 15 days) out of it. I was thinking of letting it expire and getting another one in March. However, by waiting until March, I will probably get just two trips out if it, and by renewing immediately with 13 months, I will also get 2 trips. So like @cloudnut220, I am going to go ahead an renew rather than wait.

If I think of it as "How much am I paying per month?" then three months is greater than the renewal savings, but if I think of it as "How many trips do I get?, then the renewal makes sense.

Does anyone know if the DVC AP pricing is locked in for the year so it is not affected by any intra year price increase?
