hi, my husband and I are seriously considering buying into dvc, just a small question, how much are the annual dues at SSR per point. Many thanks

 thank you so much - we have decided we wamt a piece of the magic

Now for the bank to lend us their :listen:

Just to let you know - you can get Disney's own finance if you you sign up out there - its quick and easy @ 10% over 10 years - no credit cheques and flexible deposit (we paid $500 down)- and no redemption fee for paying off early

Thank you. We did the tour last sept and have spent many a day with calculator (me ) working out whether it would work for us... I have finally decided to go for it..didnt realise disney could finance it???!! :woohoo:

Yes you can but only while you are there - you can't do it when you get back. I think its a15 % deposit - but you can make some intial payment - we paid $ 500 and are now paying the balance of the deposit over a couple of months - its then about £ 110 per month for 10 years (we bought 200pts) it would about £ 100 or maybe less for the standatd 150pts)- but you can pay it off sooner without any penalties - but its so easy - no credit check or anything.

take care - and if you can go for it !

Hubby is in the process of talking to michael
(who was the dvc guide) when were out there in nov 2005. :cool1:

We are back there this sept, so this is going to be our last holiday as non dvc members

Hubbie is still ignoring all my plans for this years trip, all the adr's are done tickets to mnsshp ordered and received :surfweb: , daily plans sorted  doesnt want to know till we are on the plane :sad2: - looks like im packing again

It might be worth checking this out. We signed up a couple of weeks ago (from home) and our guide specifically asked if we needed the GE Money finance option. We did pay cash, so whether or not there may have been some later problem, I don't know.

We were offered finance thropugh Disney (via a UK provider) in March 2004. We didn't take up the offer, but this was all offered over the phone, not while we were in WDW.

Things may have changed but you definitely could do it from the UK then :)

I believe Disney had a tie with Abbey - not sure if they still do it - our finance is with Disney themselves - no underwriter. This makes them very flexible with deposit and payment schedules etc (They have nothing to lose - don't pay - don't stay ?). Think they can finance outside US but with a 3rd party if at all. Think they suggest getting the loan yourself. Woth speaking to your DVC Rep ?

They did do it through Abbey in 2004, I don't know now (someone else mentions GE Money above)? But to all intents and purposes you do the finance through Disney with Abbey (or whomever) as the provider from a UK perspective.

I completely agree with what you say Tim about "don't pay, don't stay" - this brings a very low risk element to the transaction (for Disney) as even if you defaulted immediately the only cost to them would be administrative (unless you managed to swing a stay immediately of course and then defaulted).

I think a 10 year plan is great for flexibility, but I would offer a note of caution to anyone contemplating this - you will end up paying over the odds if you stick to the 10 year repayment plan. It's about weighing up the best option for one's own financial position at that moment in time :)

my dh is just the same. I have booked two grand gathering trips, up-graded the car, booked all the ADRS for 9 of us, booked at the seven month window to BCV, booked at 11 month window for SSR and booked the flights and he won't want to know til we are there!

Have a great time

Susan

On the subject of finance we only need a short term loan as in 2008, we will have enough capital to pay it off completley. However waiting till then means that the price per point will be higher and I CANT wait that long :rotfl2:

Men ;)

When we went last year we were WDW virgins, I didnt find alot of these sites until we came home, although I used the brits guide. I did manage to formulate a daily schedule which proved valuable. However this year this site and others are going to give us a different holiday, I have downloaded, printed, asked question ,booked adr's and mnsshp.

Cant wait to see their faces :teeth:

I hope you have a great trip with your grand gatherings and love going home :cheer2:

I seem to remember that when we did last add-on we initially financed through Disney for the simple reason it gave us around 4 months breathing space before any payment was required.
Before we made any payment on the financing option we paid full amount of add-on to disney without any interest costs to ourselves.
It was our guide who suggested this
