Wow. I never realized how much less my dues are (BLT) than others. I don't usually read these things, so I found the high dues at some resorts interesting.

Do the calculation on dues per room night, not dues per point. For example, a night in a studio at OKW will cost you $102.85 a night in dues (11 points at $9.35 a point), whereas a night at BLT will cost you between $126.14 (standard view 17 points at $7.42) and $244.86 (theme park view - a whopping 33 points at $7.42) a night in dues. Because BLT has more points per room night, it has lower dues per point (there are other factors that go into why some resorts cost more - VAKL gets some animal upkeep charges in their dues no one else gets, for instance). Your best value from a dues perspective is to buy a low dues resort and use the points at seven months to stay in a low points per night resort (the 2042 resorts - especially OKW and BWV standard - although good luck getting BWV standard at seven months). Point inflation means that people buying resorts built in the last fifteen years have needed to buy more points to get the same number of nights out of their home resort for the same season.
Also, dues will change over time - twenty years ago when we were newer BWV owners BWV had higher dues than OKW and every year the OKW owners would talk about who had the better deal. Now, BWV has lower dues than OKW
