I smile, nod and listen to their irritating stories while thinking the whole time "how do I get away from this person?!?!".

I've found that the best way to deal with them is to pretend to care and then find a way to get out, while trying to be as nice, wonderful and lovely as possible.

IRL, I ignore and evade. I know, I'm a bad person. I'm pretty good at it though, I don't think most have caught on that I don't like them.

My MIL is the most annoying person EVER!! Avoiding her is not an option, so I sing the Winnie the Pooh theme song in my head. It makes it easier to smile and nod.

IRL, some of the most annoying people to me are my relatives, so I just nod and say "uh huh" a lot when they talk and try to remember that I love them. If not related, I try to avoid & ignore.

I must admit I work with someone who is so annoying. Depending of the day I try to be charitable but then on other days I just want to rip her vocal cords out!

I don't. Sooner or later they usually leave my vicinity because they don't get from me what they want.

I just open my mouth. That tends to drive them away
