Annoying lingering cough

I had a cold 2 weeks ago and am now left with this annoying cough from phlegm in the back of my throat....i'm sure i'm bothering everyone I sit near at work from constantly clearing my throat and DH is unfortunately doing the same thing. Does something like Mucinex get rid of this? I feel as if (TMI) i've been blowing my nose all the time yet I just have this tickle in my throat that just won't go away.

Are there any products that really work on clearing out a cough from a previous cold?

This happens to me every time I get a cold! I actually find it isn't quite as bad if I avoid OTC cold medications while the cold is in full swing.

Is your cough productive or dry?

I have a cough right now - started as a productive cough a couple of weeks ago, now more of a tickle. I found the Robitussin Cough Gells work pretty well to suppress my urge to cough, and to help me sleep through the night.
