Announcing a store for the DIS!!

We are in the beginning stage of putting together a store here on the DIS. We plan to carry some custom DIS merchandise like t-shirts, caps, bumper stickers and maybe even DIS antenna balls! We will also carry Disney collectibles from Lenox and Department 56.

The DISer formerly known as d.Kurz (now DISshopkeeper…AKA Dorothy) will be operating the store for us. She works for a company that has been in retail for over 30 years which has a long-standing commitment to customer service which Dorothy pledges will be the standard for the DISshop.

We hope to have a soft opening some time in August 2003 and be fully in swing for this coming Holiday Season. And yes, we WILL offer gift certificates for those that want to send a friend a present, but don't know what to buy them!

Please give us your feedback on what kind of merchandise you would like us to carry! We’d love to hear any other thoughts you may have regarding Internet Shopping sites and the DISshop as well!

Do you think it SHOULD all be lime green, Kim? We were actually thinking of offering lime green AND a more nuetral color, maybe ash grey??? At least as far as shirts go....

For ideas, I am addicted to my Passporter, and always seem to have this compulsion to buy a Birnbaum's Guide EVERY year, whether I am going to WDW or not. lol

I would for sure buy a DIS T shirt.

I like the idea of stome standard ribbons or maybe DIS lanyards. I would love to see a t-shirt in grey with lime green writing. Love the idea of antenna balls!

Wow, lots of great ideas! Lanyards were on the list. And maybe in place of ribbons...buttons! They are a definite. We have a terrific supplier on them..... My local High School has a class for disabled kids where they run a couple of businesses. Guess what was sitting in the corner gathering dust?? A button machine!! The kids are really excited about their new project and the teacher is thrilled as well.

I'd like to see fun travel accessories, like:

* big, colorful luggage tags
* fanny packs
* travel wallets
* backpacks/tote bags
* vests with lots of pockets?
* hats/visors
* the buttons, of course. (Can they be personalized?)
* Disney CDs (music to get you in the mood for a trip!)

I'm another Passporter fan, but I'm a sucker for organizers and travel planners.

That sounds like such a GREAT idea. It will be nice knowing that at the same time we are helping the students out too!

Boy, it would sure be nice to get some stuff that you can only get at the resorts! Like the beautiful Tigger jacket that my DH bought at WL and wore about 6 times before he LOST IT! Needless to say, I'd love to replace that!
