Announcing a store for the DIS!!

How about Lime Green Balloons? It would be great if it were possible to get them filled with helium at Disney World (for a fee) so we could tie them to the stroller. Besides meeting other Disboard members it would make that stroller easy to find.

That's cute! Something for extra change to save towards a vacation - and a constant reminder to skip the frappacinno I don't really need and instead stick my money in the mickey bank. LOL!

So many good ideas! I'm interested in lots of things that have been mentioned.

Cut ribbon can be treated with stuff called Fray-Check that keeps it from unraveling. Also if you cut it at an angle, grograin lasts pretty well. Pair that with an official button with username included and I bet you'd sell a ton.

I'm not a big t-shirt fan. I am a breast cancer survivor and don't like things that fit me tight any longer. I'm also Pooh-sized, so I'm sensitive to the requests for larger sizes. If I buy a tee, I want it to be very generous - the bigger the better. I'd like to see you offer them in 4X, too. Do you DIS? is cute.

Keep the ideas coming. I'll be looking forward to the grand opening. I'd love to do some Christmas shopping. OH, how about a Christmas ornament?

And if things can be delivered to the resorts, could they be delivered to the ships as well? That'd be too cool.

I've been away since Thursday and LOVE all the interest and ideas!!

A lime green rain poncho was one of my original ideas and I gotta admit it's one of my favorites! I have been having some trouble finding them inexpensively, though. It may wind up being white with a repeating lime green imprint, which would still make us easy to spot!

I LOVE the piggy bank suggestion and hadn't thought of that one!! I will look into it!

Dept 56: They DID make some Disney stuff in the past. And for those who recognized that the pics in my sig were Dept 56, YES, they have 4 new Disney mid-season introductions which will be included in our first offerings at DISshop!

I didn't take time to read all the posts so these are probably duplicates:
- ponchos
- guest of honor badges
- charms (for charm bracelet)
- as a takoff on lanyards, we were at a convention where we were issued a customized ID holder. It was like a lanyard in that it hangs from the neck. Instead of a clip it had an id holder with a clear ID pouch in the front and a more secure pouch behind it that holds dollar bills safely. We use it all the time at WDW for room keys, passes and money. I loop it around a belt loop and then slide it into a pocket.
- Unofficial Guide
- "survival kits" and other gift-sets for adults and children

Ditto! What a great idea:smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

...some of my suggestions:
~ lime green lanyards (maybe with our user names on 'em!)
~ notecards, stationary, post cards, XMas cards
~ lime green bandanas
~ T-shirt with the imprint "DISBoards ~ The next BEST thing to WDW!"

I like all of these ideas so far....
especially the lime green ponchos, lanyards, scrunchies, and the T-shirts. I wouldn't mind it being flourescent!:) That neck cooler thing would be great too! Oh how about lime green umbrellas?
Kim

I didn't get thru all of the pages of this so I apologize if a duplicate - but.....

I would really like to be able to order some pressed pennies somewhere.

We didn't start our book until the next to the last day last trip. My DD then decided she LOVED this. I did get a RAOK from someone right before Christmas last year and also bought a few from someone else so I had some to wrap up for Xmas.

But you get the idea....it would be nice to be able to grab some now and again for easter, Valentines treats etc for the kids to stick in their book.

(Maybe the books too!)

All fine and well for those who Dis during the day but how about Dis wine glasses for those who Dis after the family is in bed?;)

How about a tall, handled glass for those of us who don't drink coffee or other hot beverages? I have a green glass I got at Seaworld in 1989 :earseek: that is worn out. Shamu wore off a long time ago. Everyonein the house knows it is mine and HANDS OFF. I know just how much sugar to put in with my ice tea that I drink year round. It is 22 oz. and I love it very much...maybe too much.

Lots of them... all sizes, shapes, colors and expecially ones for the holidays....sorry... I am obsessed with them.
Thanks and good luck,
Liz

I like the big insulated mugs. My favorite is tall and thin and made of plastic. It is lined with metal. I adore that one and everyone in the family leaves it for me.

I would like to see nice back packs. Not too big though. with pockets to carry water and maybe and emergency kit in them ( band aids, wet wipes, saftey pins, and such). I also like the idea of the scrunchies.

Dorothy -

How exciting!! This is the best news!:Pinkbounc :bounce: I would be thrilled (and much prefer) to support Pete Werner and the DIS then purchase these items other places!!

Here are my suggestions...............sorry if they are duplicates of other posts but I couldn't read 10 pages worth (just too excited and had to jump in)

1) I have used the Passporter in the past but must admit that most of what I have learned has been from fellow Dis'ers.

2) Waterproof KTTW Card holders in lime green with the DIS Logo. I use the double one so I can keep my card, some cash and even travel Kleenex packs with me while on DCL or at a resort pool.

3) A special countdown clock just for the DIS. They have them for retirements or other special occasions. I'm sure they can just be modified. Talk about a surprise on Christmas morning if someone is planning a DCL or WDW vacation - especially if it already set.

4) Cell phone holder. I have had my one from DCL for 2 years and ALWAYS get lots of compliments.

5) Luggage Tags (the really nice hard plastic ones that will stand up to various luggage handlers). I bought one at WDW for DD and she has used that on backpacks, luggage and her swim bag. It is a really great, no lost bags and a great conversations piece.

6) T-Shirts (which I'm sure are definitely on the list) BUT how about sleeveless Polo shirts for Ladies. I buy one at every WDW resort we stay and on the ships. Land's End had some great ones this year with solid color and a simple white band around the shoulders and collar to really dress them up.

7) DIS Rain Ponchos. I can't tell you how much I loved our SOG Hunter Green ones last December at WDW. A sea of yellow and then DD in Hunter Green - a standout. BUT, Lime Green would be much better (or other colors)

8) I love the idea of the Antenna ball.

9) Coolies for your sodas or beers. That soft foam cover that your cans slide into in different bright colors with the DIS Logo. I have sold these as fundraisers and they always seem incredibly popular and aren't expensive to purchase.

10) DIS Phone Cards - This may be a bit out there and expensive (I don't know) but, again, when I cruise DCL, I would rather support the DIS and buy DIS Phone cards to give to the ship's crew as a thank-you then say Wal-Mart!!

11) We have some wonderful DIS'ers who go above and beyond. There is someone who has done the WWWD recognition for Disney castmembers. But, if I wanted to recognize another DIS member or simply say thank you, I would love to have a token with which to recognize them.

12) Okay, this is a little more out-there but lots of the DCL cruise folks decorate their doors for Halloween, Christmas and other holidays. The DIS could put together boxes for just that purpose. They could be delivered to the WDW resort or the Ship (Since "The Perfect Gift" can deliver to the ship, there is a tie in). MCazer, another Dis'er, sent a box with a little Christmas tree and decorations and tiny 4 inch stockings to the Contemporary for us last December. That simple thoughtfulness really made a big impact on us AND the room!

13) How about a lime green over the door shoe holder?? (LOL) Perhaps the pack could include an extension cord!

I think that is it for now. Dorothy, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I think this is a GREAT idea.

Take care -

Hi, Dorothy!

One thing I've only found at WDW is a denim jacket with embroidery... such as the year, Mickey, etc., I love my jackets, but since the WISH, I've lost about 30 pounds and plan on shedding more and the jacket just hangs.

Oh, and ball caps that are adjustable for Pooh sized heads...:D

Thanks!
Lois

I'd like to see collectibles from conventions, park doll signings.
WDAC conventions, Park exclusive merchandise, etc.

I saw someone mention sleeveless polo shirts, but I (and DH) would love regular polo shirts. Of course, his could say DIS Widow, and the kids stuff could say DIS Orphan...
