1/5 Magic Kingdom Day

DH awoke to Mickey's phone call at 6:30. Last year I selfishly hogged the phone side of the bed, so this year I graciously let DH do the honors;) I jump out of bed immediately and get ready in about 15 min. I prod DH who sluggishly gets out of bed - it took a few "we're in WDW:Pinkbounc :bounce: " to get him up.

On our way to the lobby (where we managed *not* to get lost), we were excited to see a raccoon - another benefit to the AB section:D I tried to get a few pictures, but he was much less obliging than his buddy Meeko! Then I had a brief heart-attack at the front desk, when the CM said that we'd have to move back to our original room... Since we had arrived so late the first night, I had booked room-only, starting the Gold Plan the following day. I told her that the CM the previous night had said we could stay. It took about 10 min. but everything was straightened out - apparently the hold up was since we had been upgraded. Phew, another relief:D

We had a PS at Crystal Palace at 8:50, and had been slightly worried about getting there relatively early since we relied on the bus system. Never fear, listen to Tyler, he knows his stuff!! We had no sooner walked to the bus station than a MK bus pulled up; we were the only ones on it, it was great.

We were let into the park early, got our picture on Main St. with very few other people in it, had a great character bfast, and were on a few rides in less than an hour. We thought we were in 7th heaven... We went on HM, Splash, BTMRR, POC - absolutely no wait. Then we walked into Fantasyland, and our fantasy was over. Nooooooo, crowds:mad: Oh well, we still had a blast; we rode a ton of rides, then had lunch at CRT. We were lucky enough to get a window seat and that was probably my favorite lunch of the trip. I'm easily amused and love the butter in the coach mold, the cappucino creme brulee served coffee-service (now I know what that means), and the chocolate castle silk-screened on DH's plate.

We must have criss-crossed the park countless times, but we were still raring to go since it was our first day. When the time came, we took our vouchers over to the preferred viewing for Wishes. It was nice to have the tables and chairs reserved without having to wait for them. There was a tree blocking our view a little, but it was such a warm night, and we absolutely *loved* Wishes. We were both so happy to be there and enjoying our trip so much:Pinkbounc :bounce:

After Wishes, we hoofed it to the boat launch for Wilderness Lodge, for dinner at Artist Point. My idea for the trip had been to bring a change of clothes, store it in a locker during the day, then freshen up before going to dinner. That lasted a grand total of 2 days, after that we didn't care if we went in jeans - lol! But it was nice to be able to change before dinner and feel human again. We enjoyed walking around the lobby, seeing it decorated for Christmas before we were seated. We ate here on our wedding night and just loved it. Again, it did not disappoint and was one of our favorite dinners of the whole trip:D This year we were a bit wiser however, and didn't stuff ourselves with bread or worry about finishing every bite, we also did not have any wine (sniff, sniff, but not getting overly stuffed was more important than alcohol). Last year we were so hungry and it was our first night on the Silver Plan, that I thought I was going to get sick after dinner. Not the case this year thankfully!

Afterwards we caught the bus to DD, then the bus to POR, and still had enough energy to swim and use the hot tub. A good thing too since it was the only night warm enough on our entire trip!! This was the first time we managed to get ourselves hopelessly lost... We found the pool and our room but it took quite a while. I don't know if both our brains were on overdrive or what, we kept walking in circles... We had a great time in the pool chasing each other around, then soaking in the hot tub. A great end to a wonderful day:D

What a nice day! Sounds like you guys are really making the most of the gold plan.
