Hi guys -

I'm looking for some suggestions for something special to do for my parents' 45th wedding anniversary, which will take place during our trip with them next month.

Party is my mom and dad, myself, DH and DS10. DS10 is like an adult in taste and interest, including dining.

We'll be at BLT for that portion of the trip, so I was thinking monorail loop area. Ideas? I'd really like to make a memory for them.

Meant to ask about specifically about TOTWL (do they offer anything 'special' I could do), or anything we could arrange at Poly or GF?

I'd totally go for dinner at Victoria & Albert's. We celebrated our 20th there, as well as eating there another time, and it was wonderful.

Depends if you want to go with a more 'serious' experience like Victoria and Albert's...with a family group, I might be more inclined to do the Hoop de Doo Review, where they will recognize their anniversary and it could be lot of fun for the whole group. Or if you want to stay on the monorail, try the luau at the Polynesian or Ohana...?

We went to O'hana's for our parents 45th anniversary.....my parents are very informal and everyone enjoyed it there......for my daughters 21st birthday in Sept she has requested the California Grill...that's her favorite resturant

Have you considered a Wishes Cruise? You can rent a boat that can hold up to 8 people for around $300. The driver will usually give you a brief tour of the area and then set you up with a great view of the firework show. My wife and I will be doing this tonight after dinner at Ohana. You can pick up the boat at either Contemporary, Grand Floridian, or Polynesian.

I was going to suggest the Illuminations cruise after dinner.

If you haven't tried Citricos at GF, I highly recommend it. Just the right amount of upscale and still casual. Amazing food and even better service.

Also a great idea. We did that last year and it was a very awesome view!! :)

I have definitely been looking at the cruises as an option. Do they do anything differently for a special occasion? Can I add in decorations/cake to the cruise? Also, if I book the cruise, is the boat just ours even though they can fit more than our party (of 5), or are you reserving the whole boat?

I am still also inclined to do something nice at the TOTW Lounge as a possibility as well. I know they don't have a full kitchen, so does anyone know whether I can arrange to have a cake brought up there at a certain time?

Regarding Hoop Dee Doo or Luau, we have done them before, and my parents have, too, but not for a few years. Could I arrange for my parents to be recognized, or just the normal cake order type of thing...?

I'd like to do something with a little more "wow" factor than just a nice dinner out and a cake. That's what we'd do at home. We eat out at fairly schmancy restaurants often, so I'm looking for something with more of a hook. In other words, even if we did a high end dinner, how can I make it stand out as more than just a lovely dinner?

We just got off the boat and I asked our driver a few questions. Of course when you rent the boat, the boat is yours. I rented a ten person "premium" boat for just my wife and I. You don't have to worry about it being filled with other guests. The premium boat will pipe in the music from Wishes. You are able to order food, cake, as well as request some decorations. When we got to the boat there was a Happy Anniversary sign with a few balloons. You CAN NOT beat the view!! :)
