Anniversary dinner suggestions

I'm trying to decide where to eat with my husband during our belated 15 year anniversary trip to Disney this October. The problem is that I'm a vegetarian, but not a vegan, and I'm not seeing many options for me. I would really rather not eat a vegan meal if I'm spending a ton of money on a nice dinner, but I will if it's very very good I guess. The best option for me seems to be at Yachtsman (potato and leek stuffed pasta, yum!), but my husband is not a huge steak fan, although he's overall a meat eater. Does anyone have a suggestion for us? We'll also be eating at Sanaa and Chefs de France on this trip, and we just bought annual passes so we can eat at other similar restaurants on this and other trips we take throughout the year. Just trying to find something a bit more special. TIA!

Disney came out with allergy menus and they aren't on the website but it lists the most common allergies or special dietary needs. Just make a note on any ADR and if you can't find what you need on that menu a chef can always prepare things to accommodate at any restaurant including a buffet or dinner show so pretty much any place that interests you should be fine. Here are a few places we really like in case you need some ideas. At BOG in MK for dinner the French onion soup is vegetarian and I thought they had some type of vegetarian entrees there plus the appetizer salad trio and great desserts. Or, Boma at AKL is a buffet and if you can't find enough at the different stations a chef can make some things special for you. If you like Italian Tutto Italia at EPCOT can make you pasta with no meat sauce with vegetables.

Maybe check out the menu at Cali Grill... where it is your anniversary, maybe you can request a table by the window for a beautiful view of Wishes. :) Romantic!

If you aren't on the DDP and you like Italian food, I would recommend Il Mulino at the Swan. The atmosphere is quiet and the service and food are great. They have quite a variety of options for vegetarians and more than just steak for those that eat fish and meat.

It's very easy to have a great vegetarian meal at Sanaa! I loved both the salad sampler and the paneer tikka!

Have you considered Spice Road Table? They have several vegetarian dishes. DH and I have a lovely meal there at a table next to the water. A pitcher of sangria, a beautiful evening, yummy food, and ending with IllumiNations - we loved it!

Another Vegetarian/omnivore pair here! Sanaa is really great, both the food and the atmosphere. Jiko is our standby special occasion restaurant, although I haven't tried the new vegetarian entree. I haven't been to Trattoria al Forno yet, but it's gotten very good reviews from vegetarians, and thanks to lots of delicious cheese is not as vegan oriented. It's on my to-eat list. Generally, I find it helps if you say something like "I love butter" to the chef, it seems to give them permission to create something more creative for you. Also, Morimoto Asia's menu looks good. We had a rough meal at Chefs de France several years ago and haven't been back. But...I just looked at the menu and it looks really good now!!! Thanks for the tip.

Sanaa is not only a beautifully wonderful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. The food is AMAZING! Plus bonus for you it is Vegan and vegetarian friendly. I'd make it your special meal location.

I selected Artists Point for a special birthday meal and it was lovely but not better than Sanaa just different. I am really really looking forward to going back to Sanaa if only for the lovely atmosphere, bread service and just we felt so happy and welcome!

The only other suggestion is check the menu for Cali Grill. I mean even it I would not put over Sanaa because it has turned into a zoo of overtired wild children left to run free as parents drag out the meals leading up to Wishes. It's hardly romantic. We did have a window table in a corner so a bit out of the chaos but nothing protects you from the noise. Sanaa was a much better environment

Totally agree with Sanaa. Food there was absolutely wonderful last time my family ate there.

California Grill is a great suggestion, and one that I hadn't thought of! Thanks everyone for all that you've said, it's greatly appreciated.

Has anyone ever had a vegetarian meal at Victoria & Alberts? That's a bucket list meal for us, and since we'll be without the kids a good time to go.

I haven't but I do know that other people have successfully HAVE. They will customise to any needs or wants. We dined there on the 24th February and they rang a week before (even though I'm in Australia) to check with any allergies or dietary requirements. Prior to making this booking I had read that vegetarians, those that don't eat fish, things like that..... You tell them and they customise a menu to your needs then present it to you at the end to remember your meal. We ate a 10 course in the QVR.
