I just booked a trip for our 10th anniversary in Dec and I can start making ADRs in about a week so where would you go for dinner? This will also happen to be the night before we leave so I would really kind of like to go out with a bang, but without breaking the bank ;)
We will be on ddp so it would be helpful for the restaurant to be on ddp also, but not completely necessary.
So suggest away

We went to the California Grill for our anniversary. The food is great, and you can't beat the view, especially if you go during Wishes. It's on the DDP, but it's 2 table service credits. It's a really nice meal though.

Last year we ate at 1900 Park Fare for our anniversary. And this year we are doing the GF Tea and eating dinner at Ohana.

:lmao: I know those are not "romantic" places, but we have DD with us!! And this year dinner will be with both sets of grandparents too!!

Now, if it were just DH and I, I would like to try California Grill or The Yachtsman Steakhouse. Narcoossee's appeals to me too. I think all three of those are 2 credits, which is one reason why I have not tried them yet!! :rotfl2:

Do you have a favorite kind of meal for special occasions?

I think the world showcase restaurants in Epcot are always nice because of the themeing. The inside of the Mexican pavalion its always nighttime & so pretty inside. Morroco you feel like you're eating in a king's palace if you like that type of food. There's something romantic about going to a French restaurant IMO ;)

Enjoy you trip!

Our next trip in 12 days will be our 25th anniversary celebration!:dance3:

Since we will be on the DDP too, I wanted to get the most meals out of the plan, so we are skipping the Signature Restaurants (we are also not very adventurous eaters!). We are going to eat at some restaurants we have never tried. Since we are staying at BC and we are travelling with my DD and her BF who are both 16, we decided we would have our "anniversary dinner" at Chefs de France in Epcot. We are able to walk there and it is something new for us. The girls will stay at the resort or they will walk around Epcot without us (whatever they want to do).

This will give us some time to be alone and eat somewhere the girls were not too keen on eating. We considered San Angel, but we have done that and just wanted something different. I have to say the atmosphere at San Angel is romantic as it is really dark in there, but been there done that ;)

Congrats on your anniversary, just remember whatever you do just being together at WDW is one of the best gifts you can get :cloud9:

Citricos is a wonderful restaurant. The food and service are both incredible!

Other spots I'd recommend are Artist Point and Jiko. ::MinnieMo

I do not recommend California Grill - it is noisy and busy and lots of movement - not exactly a romantic place. Good food, sure, but not for a romantic anniversary dinner - do it some other time.

We love Jiko for the signature restaurants.

Other 1 TS credit locations that are a little more "romantic":

Le Cellier
San Angel Inn
Tutto Italia
Chefs de France
Grand Floridian Cafe
The Wave
Some of the other resort restaurants depending on what you like to eat (Boatwrights, Shutters, etc.)

Originally I had ADR's at Rose and Crown ( per my mom's suggestion) for oudr 10 year anniversary dinner. However the Army changed our plans and DH wont be going. Instead I'm opting to do Ohana with my little sister (ok she's 22) and my kiddo's.

The great thing about Disney and being on the DDP though is EVERY meal can be a Celebration meal :D

Assuming it will be just the two of you, I recommend Jiko. DH and I had a very delightful dinner there last December and will be back in August. Can't wait!

Thank you all for your suggestions. Now I am considering making everything more complicated and do MVMCP that night also, which may or may not effect my ADR choice.
If I do decide to go with Jiko I think we would pay OOP since looking at allears.net the prices do not seem to justify the 2 TS credits on the ddp.

eta: yes it will be just dh and myself and this trip, so no LO to worry about ;)

We are going then as well for our 12th wedding anniversary. Congrats to you! We decided that, since we have our 2 year old with us, we would enjoy CRT for dinner. Hope I made the right pick! :)

I would vote for Jiko or California Grill. We just celebrated our 3 year anniversary, at CA Grill this past memorial day weekend.

If you are going to head to the MK for the MVMCP, they I would go to California Grill, purely from a logisitics standpoint.

Either choice, IMO, is wonderful. Happy Anniversary.

Another vote for Jiko! I've eaten there twice and have had wonderful service and delicious food each time. They have a nice wine list, too.

There is also a FREE culinary tour at Boma/Jiko at 4pm. It's pretty cool, and a fun little pre-date. The tour guide tells you a bit about African culture and the food they serve at Disney to represent that, and you get to try a few things. I'd recommend going to this, then spend some time touring the AKL/seeing the animals outside, then sitting for dinner at Jiko. I also suggest getting the ostrich appetizer there. I know it sounds a bit off (and I was a bit hesitant at first), but it was quite good.

As a side note, I wouldn't recommend California Grill. I went there hoping for a romantic meal, and had a bit of a horrible experience. The food, mind you, was really good, but was so rushed that I left there feeling like I might be sick. We had four courses (without dessert--which is my absolute favorite part of any meal--only because I didn't think I could stomach it) in less than an hour. We had also gotten some wine at the bar because our table wasn't quite ready, and carried our drinks over to our seats. We finished our wine within the first course, and the server never offered us anything else! I had this vision that it would be quiet and romantic, and we'd get to watch Wishes. Instead, it was loud and the service was just disappointing. We also got up to watch Wishes mid-dinner, which we'd mentioned to our server, only to return to find out entrees sitting there, cold, when we returned. I'd like to go back because I really did enjoy the food, but I think I'd prefer just to sit at the bar.

We went to the California Grill for our anniversary. The food is great, and you can't beat the view, especially if you go during Wishes. It's on the DDP, but it's 2 table service credits. It's a really nice meal though.

We did the same thing on our 10th anniversary a couple of years ago and loved it!
