Anniversary Dinner - California Grill?

We recently decided we'd like to spend our 5th wedding anniversary at WDW (we have AP's so this shouldn't be a problem .)

We were looking for someplace special for our dinner that night & we are considering California Grill - neither one of us have ever been there & I think it would be a special place to dine that night. I would need to make a PS for this later this week, but the hours aren't out yet.

Does anyone have an idea of what time the MK fireworks took place in May of 2004? I'm guessing around 9 pm - are they ever any later?

I was hoping to have a nice dinner & then maybe catch the fireworks from the balcony outside the restaurant - is this the best way to plan for this since I heard they aren't dimming the lights & playing the music for the fireworks anymore?

Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!!

not saying they do this every time

but I stressed it was our anniversary when I made my PS last year, when I called the confirm I said it again and when we got there, they had a window seat held for us....we watched wishes from our table

We you make your PS make sure they know that it is a special event and you'll usually get a good view. We went there for DW 40th and not only had a great view but got to watch a guy pull out a glass slipper and propose. Very cool. And to top it off the food is fabulous.

Thanks for the great replies! I'll definitely mention our anniversary when I make the PS - I'd love to get a window seat, but even if we don't I'm sure we'll have a great time. Keep the ideas coming!

We went to WDW for our honeymoon last year. We had dinner at CG on our penultimate evening and it was wonderful. Granted we didn't get a fantastic window seat (but then we didn't tell them it was a special occasion), but the food was fantastic, the server was great and they left something out of my dish that I expressed a dislike for. Nothing could have beaten watching wishes from the roof of the CG with my new husband.
