Anniversary day -- help us decide

We will celebrate our 14th anniversary at the world. We will probably not be dining alone, mind you -- our 3 kids (a dividend of our 14 yrs together!) will be with us! Kids ages will be 9,8,and 4 on our trip. Looking for a nice way to spend the day, ala WDW magic.

Had a couple of thoughts, in no specific order but just can't decide (and am open to new ideas...)

(1) Send kids on a Pirate cruise; enjoy a nice lunch at GF cafe w/ dh. Dinner that night (but where? Will have car... staying at BWV. Somewhere fun and family? Kids love to see their parents made fun of! Maybe WC at WL? Or maybe Ohana? Haven't done it yet.)

(2) Spend day in MK. Do castle for dinner? Or maybe CRT (if I can get it!) for bfast, take mono somewhere for dinner?

(3) A fun bfast (maybe Cape May?) -- DTD day -- do HDDR for dinner?

(4) Epcot day -- do SBP in Norway for b'fast; maybe LeCellier for dinner? (Always wanted to try LC...)

I know that we wouldn't (just because of how our schedule for our vacation is set up) be in MGM or AK during our anniversary, so anything there is out, but pretty much any other park or resort could be arranged. We will have a car, and there's always WDW transport.

Any special restaurants that make a fuss over anniversary would be fun -- but nothing too "adult" (unless we stick the kids in Neverland or similar Disney playland! But that gets costly with 3 kids... they have indicated, however, that they would LOVE this, once they saw the game stuff in there!!) And I should note that dh is not big on fancy cuisine... if it's any indicator, his favorite place last time was Garden Grille (our 2002 anniversary dining experience -- yes, we've done the re-hitch ceremony!) He thought Coral Reef was well overpriced and the menu "scared" him (start talking capers and wasabe and dh gets nervous!)

So what do you think? Open to ideas!

We've done brunch at GF Cafe while the kids are on the pirate cruise...we love it there. I highly recommend the veggie fritata and the turkey sausage. DH likes the eggs benedict. It's very relaxing there. Here's the menu:

I think your DH would like WCC at WL. It's a meat and potatoes-type place and lots of fun. We highly recommend the all-you-can-eat skillet:

Dinner in the castle would be nice, or how about at a resort on the monorail line i.e. 'Ohana at Poly or Chef Mickey at Contemporary? Also Plaza restaurant has NICE sandwiches, our favorite:

If you have not done the HDDR it is IMO a MUST. Excellent show, good food (chicken and ribs etc).

Le Cellier is also a favorite of ours. I highly recommend the cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet:

Some other suggestions:
Put the kids in babysitting at WL (Cub's Den
(407) 824-1083) and go to Artist Point. Because they are close by, it'll cut down on the time/money they're there). AP is a little "adult" as you say, but there are lots of meat dishes your DH may like:

If you're staying at BWV, why not put the kids at the Sandcastle Club at BC (407) 934-7000, ext. 6191, and go to Yachtsman Steakhouse:

Also Cape May has a Clambake that would be fun for the whole family:

Good luck...hope that helps.

Hard to add to what Erikarate has said. With the kids, I think you'll be best off at Whispering Canyon or O'hana for dinner.

Why not go to the Garden Grill for the rehitching ceremony? I believe there is a description of it on debs site. This could be a lunch, rather than a dinner, so you could save your dinner for something more elaborate. The kids would get a kick out of the rehitching, you probably will, too!

Congrats on your fourteen years!
Debbie

We've done the re-hitch before.... so we were looking for something new.

We've actually been to WC before -- lots of fun. DH did comment to me last year that "Man, I bet they really embarrass anniversary and birthday folks here...." We had planned to do this restaurant again somewhere in our trip -- maybe anniversary night will be the night.

Any other restaurants (besides GG and WC) do anything special for anniversaries?

Thanks --
CIndy

I can't believe I overlooked that part of your original post! How about Prime Time? I have been there for birthdays (but not at our table), but never for an anniversary. I am sure they do special things for that, especially if requested! If nothing else, you could hide your greenbeans and definately be in the middle of the fun!
