Hello, we are going to WDW in 2 weeks and we will leave 2 days before our anniversary so we won't technically be there on our anniversary. Does Disney do anything for special celebrations? And if you are on the trip to celebrate it, but not on the actual day, is it worth mentioning?

ABSOLUTELY mention it. We will be there next year three months after our official 25th wedding anniversary, but the trip is "our anniversary trip." We went in September of this year to celebrate my 50th birthday which isn't until December and I got a birthday button and they gave me balloons, cards and cake at every restaurant we went to. Be sure to get your Anniversary Buttons!

If I were you, I'd designate one day as your "anniversary celebration" day and mention it to the restaurant where you're having dinner. I'm actually going to be in WDW for my birthday, and want to have my birthday dinner at the California Grill. If the best day for our plans to eat there happens to be another day, I'm just going to call that day my "birthday" and do it that way. I'm not going to tell every restaurant it's my birthday and try to get free desserts everywhere, but I don't think fudging it by a few days to make it better fit your travel plans is a sin.

We went a month after our actual anniversary due to work & family. We got our Anniversary Buttons @ our resort and had mentioned our Anniversary when we made ADR's. But..........don't go into your dinners expecting that you will get something special. It was sorta "pot-luck" for us. We wanted to eat somewhere different and chose Cape May for our dinner. The food was awesome and so was the service. We got a Happy Anniversary & that was it, while in another part of the restaurant an anniversary couple was getting sung to and had a special dessert brought to them. Same thing happened at anniversary breakfast - we had the cutest heart made from Mickey confetti at our table and the food at CP was great & so was the server (DH loves CP & he chose it). But we got nothing, while the couple right next to us (with a different server) got a card signed by the characters, and a special dessert. Guess it just depends on who you get for a server. But with all that said, we had a great Anniversary Celebration at WDW & splurged for AP's so we can have quite a few magical days at WDW.

We were ther for DH's birthday and he wore his birthday button all day. He was wished a "Happy Birthday" by just about every CM we passed but that's all. Of course, he wasn't expecting anything more.

:sad2: We always go on our Anniversary in February. The Crystal Palace was the only place to ever do anything. They set confetti on the table and we got a card signed by all the Pooh characters and they brought out a cupcake with sprinkles and a sparkly candle on it. That was in 2006. However in 2007 we had lunch at the Garden Grill and they did nothing. We had dinner at California Grill and they did nothing but I'm less surprised by them. At Garden Grill since its family style and there are characters you would think they would have done what the Crystal Palace did.

I must say we've lucked out. We wore the wedding ears on our Weddingmoon and got free deserts with 'Congratulations' or 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate on the plate at Le Cellier & Cali Grill. Cupcakes and champange flutes at Cindy's twice on two separate years. Confetti at LTT. A signed card and congratulations at Boma. We were asked to kiss while they threw confetti on us at Donald's breakfastosaurus then got asked to be in the parade... we must have pixie dust in our veins!
